hello everyone

I want study English language for seven months, could I work or will need permit from CIC to work

You need a study permit in order to be able to work part time while you study.

In order to obtain a study permit the school you are attending must be a Designated Learning Institution (as listed on the CIC web site) and your course must be more than six months long.

So your first step is to obtain a study permit.

No, you cant work with English language program. If you want to work, you must choose a certificate( more than 8 months) or diploma.

Or you can go for postgraduate certificate or master degree. And then you can work 20 hours a week during the study term.

Will there be any issue if we work 25 hrs during study instead of 20 hrs.
Reply would be highly appreciated , Thanks. :)

And one more question :
Can we work while waiting for PGWP ?

While you are studying? Yes - of course it would be an issue. Working over 20 hours per week off campus is illegal and will place you in a situation where your study permit will be cancled by CIC if you are caught and you will be forced to leave Canada. Once this happens, forget about ever being approved for any temporary visa (e.g. study, work, visitor) to Canada again.

and what about while waiting for response on your PGWP , any idea?
Thanks for the reply.. :)

It depends on where you are working. We can work on campus in addition to 20hours off campus. So if you have a 10hrs/week part time job on campus, and you have 20hours off campus, it will total to 30 with is ok as long as you maintain the max of 20hrs off campus. I have confirmed it with cic :)
