Having just gone through this nightmare, I can give you some expert advice. These fools at the consulate will not respond to your emails regardless of how urgent or devastating your situation might be. These people are not humans and you cannot expect normal human compassion from them. Only way for you is to show up at the consulate and fill up withdrawal form and insist on getting the passport the same day. Most likely they will say that they will post it. If you cannot wait for the postal service, then you have to "create a scene to get your own passport back" as ridiculous as that might sound.. These people who call themselves diplomats are truly a disgrace to the country they represent.
