Cost of living in Ottawa for a family of 3

My family and I will be living in Ottawa and had a few questions:

1. Safe neighbourhoods with good schools for my kid
2. Average monthly cost for a family of 3
3. Average monthly cost for utilities
4. Good and resonable places to shop for furniture
5. Best phone/internet/cable companies/packages to choose from

And of course any tips and suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you all in advance for taking the time to answer any of my above questions.

I'm also new in Ottawa and so I wont be able to answer all your questions. But I can definitely answer some of them.

1) Ottawa is relatively safe any where you live. So safety is no issue.
2) If you go for 2 bedroom apartment it will cost you around $1000-$1100 with Hydro extra
5) Cheapest companies for phone are windmobile or mobilicity. And I think for internet its teksavvy


If you don't mind you are coming from which country? And do you already have a job here?

No, I didnt have job. I am recovering frm accident. So cant work.
