Hi, guys!

Can I exclude in the cost of study my accommodation if my sister and her husband has included me in their tenancy agreement and they provided a letter of support stating that I would be allowed to stay in their rental place during my study? Also, they gave their assurance that they will be providing me at least $500 dollars a month to help cover my daily living expense. And they showed a computation showing that they are capable of providing that monthly support. Can I include this in my computation of my total funds for my study?

Thanks a lot for the help!

You won't get the visa with your canadian sister sponsoring you. According to the federal immigration act A student must satisfy the visa officer that he/she has strong ties in home country and will leave canada after successful completion of his/her studies. A family member in canada indicate your immigration intend after studies. That will make a refusal for you. You better tell your sister to apply on behalf of you for PR. It may be easier for you if you are under 18 and your sister is a canadian citizen.

Thanks for that. ;D

But my sister will not be totally sponsoring me. I also have my personal savings to show that I am able to support my studies. Only that, she wants to show her support for my study by providing for my accommodation + allowances. I've been working in my home country for 10 years now and already have established a career. Would that help establish my home ties?

HI,
You have to show living expenses. No matter if your sister is supporting you though.

Reguarding mentioning of your sister's stay in canada it has nothing to do with your study permit approval/refusal.

Your career establishment seems fine. It will be better if your employer can write a letter on behalf of you stating that " After successful completion of your studies, you will be promoted and pay will increase" That will make the job done. Also if you're married and do have child then canadian sis will not create any effect cause you're leaving your family and job behind.

But I'm suggesting not to show your sister and just write that you'll reside on-campus and try to show less tie with your sis cause they can think that your sis and her husband may help you to immigrant.

Keep these point in mind bro.

I agree with Ashok. You have to show living expenses regardless of who is supporting you. However, of course, your sister can sponsor your living expenses.

Just make your application accurate and, I think CIC loves the honesty. Try your best and leave rest on Allah.

My brother who lives in Canada is my solo sponsor and I got the visa from Dhaka. So just make your application accurate and, I think CIC loves the honesty. Try your best and leave rest on Allah.
