Hi
Someone in my other group asked this and we are all not sure.
If they are married and both in canada but their dependant file is still being processed for PR.
The dad is the main sponsor and has been approved for sponsorship.

however his spouse cosigned and she has to file for bankruptcy to get out of bad debts.

will this impact the child’s PR application?
Thank you everyone

It's not that clear who is being sponsored.

Are the sponsors two parents who are PRs and are sponsoring their minor child who is not yet a PR?

If IRCC finds out about the bankruptcy, this will result in a refusal of the application.

Would add that hiding the bankruptcy is also not a good idea and could end up in a ban (usually 5 years). Would be speaking to your lawyer.

Definitely tell them to hold off on filing and or speak to a lawyer . Was the co signer necessary on the dependant app ?
Definitely tel them to seek legal advice before filing bankruptcy as it will affect the application
