Correspondence from CIC

Got a message from CIC on my Ecas saying that they sent correspondence on August 12th, this is what they wrote: -

We sent you correspondence on August 12, 2016. If you have not yet provided the information or the requested documents, please do so as soon as possible. Please wait until you receive the correspondence before sending us additional information, as the correspondence will outline all information that is required.

I've checked my email, both inbox and Spam, every day and have still not received any correspondence. I emailed them using both the generic enquiry form as well as emailing the Ottawa office, which is where our application is. I still haven't had a reply.

Any tips?

Have you received an AOR2 from them? Or anything at all at any point since you sent your application to CPC?

It's probably a document request, with ottawa VO you are probably from visa exempt country so that eliminate the passport request!

My spouse (sponsor) received an acknowledgement of receipt and later a letter clarifying that she is eligible to sponsor me. Neither of us have received anything since then.

Possibly it could be a medical examination request. I have received the same correspondence on August 16. Check with your spouse immigration lawyer if she hired one. They will have the full information you need.

I don't think it's that, I had my medical prior to application and already had notification that they've received it.

have you checked with your spouse, cuz definitely they sent something and you need to check with either your spouse or the immigration lawyer handling your case if any.

She hasn't got anything either. I can only assume they're sending something in the mail. We don't have immigration lawyers either. I wasn't willing to fork out a ton of cash for a service that I can oversee myself. I guess I'll just wait for the outcome of the emails I sent.

Visa exempt applicants don't need to send their passport but they are often asked to send a photocopy of the information page of their passport and the photos for the PR card.

yeah, they sent it already. Just do a thorough search in your inboxes or junk if they emailed it. Otherwise wait for their response, but hurry cuz you might have been given 30 days to send them the requested documents.

Edit: they are mentioning that you wait, so keep checking your email. You will be exposed to the instructions requested very soon.

i would recommend sending a case specific enquiry from the CIC website stating you did not receive the communication noted in that email. It will also be a good idea to order your GMSC notes to see what was requested. Even though it takes 30 days to receive the notes, it will still be helpful in determining what was sent or requested.

Both requests for additional information I got from CIC came in the mail and both took about a week to get from ON to SK. It does seem a little long if you haven't received a letter yet.

They do seem to understand how long it takes for you to get their request and send it back to them. The first time I responded with a case inquiry and it took them 2.5 weeks to even look at what I'd sent which was way past the one month due date. The second one was also acknowledged by them past the due date and then I was finally granted SA so I guess as long as you are working on it you should be fine.

Also I have contacted my MP and they were able to call CIC to ask a question for me and I had the answer the very next business day. I think not everyone has that experience but it might be simpler than trying to find an agent in the help center who will help you.

All is good, I got an email today requesting that I send a copy of my passport and 2 photographs to London in order for my COPR to be issued! I'm absolutely over the moon! ;D

We sent the application off in May and within 4 weeks I'll be receiving my COPR and leaving for Canada to start my new life with my beautiful wife!
