IS MY SCORE .
I want to know is 6.5 average is a good score to be submitted with my full documents? as my other aspects are strong. I am a geophysicist.my online assessment gives 72 points.
thanks
Your speaking score is high that means you can communicate well and your listening skills are decent not bad. These are the two skills one requires most when working in an English speaking country.
My brother had a terrible time working in the USA because he sucked at listening and speaking. When he landed in the USA he didn't even know what was present perfect, what was past tense...etc Though he was able to survive.
You are well beyond that stage.
However, he was able to improve his skills to a different level when he had decided to hang around with native speakers all the time. His writing and reading skills are still okish because he did not need them the most while working in the USA.
Your writing score is also okish and half band short from what is required. It is not bad at all.
In my opinion, your scores are acceptable in three sections so you should fetch your required language points and your application should not be denied on the basis of your language requirement alone.
Thanks. I have travelled extensively in USA , CANADA AND EUROPE AND MY PROFESSIONAL TRAININGS, worked in multinatonal for 10 yrs.... ALL IN ENGLISH. SO I GUESS STILL MY SCORE DOESNT REFLECT MY TRUE CAPABILITIES IN english language.so I guess i can give my self extra 0.5 band to an average .
How come you did not score over 6.5 band in writing. Your writing sounds natural. Did you make spelling mistakes, typos and did not write your essay according to a well-defined structure. Writing section is a lot easier in GT than Academic, imho.
If other aspects of your application are strong then I think you should not worry about your language score.
I guess time limitation also affects your true-capability in english language. As in daily life we deal with things , where there are no time limitation, deadlines, OR we are not under evaluation(exams)-conditions, M i RIGHT?
