Copy's of Originals, and printing them?

Hello, i need help with a minor issue, my husband and i are very confused as to If i translate our marriage certificate from Bulgarian to English and i scan the English version onto my PC, and my husband prints them in Canada for the package is that printed copy ok???

Checklist Quote: If your documents are not in English or French, send a notarized translation with a copy of the originals. These must be done by an official translator.

by that quote saying ''Notarized translation WITH a copy of the originals'' what do i do, send the translated version plus the Bulgarian Original?
and if he prints those their are they ok to send?

Do the following:

1. Translate the marriage certificate to English. - this is the first document that you need to send.
2. Photocopy the original and get it notarized. Here are the instructions from CIC website:

Certified true copies

To have a photocopy of a document certified, an authorized person must compare the original document to the photocopy and must print the following on the photocopy:

“I certify that this is a true copy of the original document”,
the name of the original document,
the date of the certification,
his or her name,
his or her official position or title, and
his or her signature.
Who can certify copies?

Persons authorized to certify copies include the following:

In Canada:

a commissioner of oaths
a notary public
a justice of the peace
Outside Canada:

a judge
a magistrate
a notary public
an officer of a court of justice
a commissioner authorized to administer oaths in the country in which the person is living
Family members may not certify copies of your documents.

Therefore, your original document must be certified by court-sworn translator that can be found in your country. Once that's done, send this document along with translated marriage certificate. That's enough.

The same goes for all other documents (birth certificate etc). They have to be translated and certified copies have to be sent along. The only exception is the police certificate - you need to send the original document and not a certified copy, but it still has to be translated to English. Ensure that it's obtained from the police as court certificates are not accepted.
