Copy of US birth certificate showing VOID

Hi,

Our application is sent to Detriot for processing. We are almost in the final stages of approval.
We had a new addition to our family last month & i need to send the birth certificate along with the passport copy.

When i take a copy of my daughter's birth certificate, i can see 'VOID' written as a water mark on the paper. if i attest this document, if this valid?

Yes sure my friend...Void shows that its an duplicate copy. If you notarised it, it will work.

I believe there are two types, one is the archival copy which ideally you are not supposed to photocopy. This is the one you send to collect your infant's passport. There is another type that can be issued and that one does not have the void water mark when you copy. You can ask the vital stat division of your state if they issue out the other type (if things have not changed)
