Hi People, i got my copr but however, i forgot to ask what means that stamp on it that says¨not valid for travel¨... anyone knows what it means? thanks.

I'm not sure, but it might mean it's not a valid ID for traveling, which means you also need a passport to travel.

My guess..

It's a confirmation that you are a permanent resident of canada, but you can't use it at the border.
It's a place holder until you receive your permanent residency card.

its also to identify that this document does not replace a VISA if you are travelling on a passport which would normally require a visa to enter canada. You will need this to enter (which would be your placeholder, as mentioned before, for your PR card), and then also have your passport (and visa, if needed) with it.

It means a COPR is not a visa and, on its own, does not allow you to enter Canada. If you are from a visa exempt country you just need your passport and present the COPR to immigration and they will process you. If you are not from a visa exempt country they would have requested your passport and stamped a PR visa in it and sent it to you with the COPR.

my husnad rcv the visa w/copr buathe prblem was the address on his cpr was my previous address not my current address which i used to for my sponsorship i surprised that mh hubby rcv his cpr w/old address wc i never put in duri mgy filing for sponsorhip is ok not call the cem because they my address mailing address

When he lands, immigration will ask if the details are correct. He can then inform them of the correct address.

happened to us too, the COPR had a previous address from over 20 years ago. It was the address i had used when me and my family when i was a kid. My wife just gave them the current address when the immigration officer had her verify the details when she landed last month. We got her PR card at the proper address just last week!

To keisul86 I crossed the border by land from the US in a private vehicle driven by a friend of mine & I used the ECOPR with my passport & no problem. You can only travel by land either by a private vehicle or walking across the border. You are not allowed to cross by any commercial vehicle including air or bus.
