COPR & Visa printed with Wrong Name and Blank Dates

Hi All,

I just received my COPR and Passport with the Visa printed.

However my name has been printed wrongly in the VISA & COPR.

All the Date fields have also been left out as Blanks ( Last Entry at: , Last Entry Date: , Original entry Date: ,

My First name and Last name is combined as a single name and put under the Family Name.

I can't exactly blame them for this mess up because my Passport first page contains my name in this format.

However I also have an observation page in my passport with the amended details showing the proper First Name and Last Name.

Is this something that could create an Issue and can this be corrected at the time of landing or needs to be done prior to it?

Any suggestions?

Hi clark kent,

Name, Date of Birth, marrital status are important information. I think you should approach CIC and get it fixed. I read on this forum that COPR is required to be sent back and they will fix it and send it back to you again.

If you are not in rush for landing, check with call center and go for inland landing where I think they fix COPR right away...

Also Last Entry at: , Last Entry Date: , Original entry Date being blank; My COPR was also like this. Yesterday when I did landing I noticed that they write by pen there itself.

I have doubt to ask you and others; To deliver PR card; delivery address will be taken from ECAS address. right?

My few friends when they did landing; there current mailing address was entered by officer at port of entry even though it was same as ECAS. But in my case that is not done...

I have not completed my landing process yet. Just yesterday I received my Passport and the COPR Document.

After consulting with JES_ON I have decided that I am not taking any chances and will be sending my Passport and COPR back to Ottawa for them to amend the mistake on my COPR and Visa.

Since my case is different as my name is not proper I have decided to correct it first before going to the Border.

I have read in many forums that the date issue is normally rectified at the Border or at the time of Inland Landing but again the COPR is a very important piece of document and based on the COPR the SIN is generated and in future if you want to apply for Citizenship they heavily depend on COPR.

Yesterday I also checked with a Call Center Agent and his First response was I can do this at the time of landing but again I don't want to take any unnecessary chances so preparing for a slightly longer wait.

Yes I am going to send my Passport and COPR for amendment to Ottawa.

Also coming to your question yes I believe the ECASE Address will be same as the delivery address.

But i know there are people in the forum who updated their address or changed their address and it was never updated properly on Ecase.

My best bet would be the address in that you receive in the Ready for Visa email should be your final address. Hope this helps.
