COPR validity

I'm a PR in Canada and I recently sponsored my wife in India and got her COPR, which will expires in Feb 2020
she is currently staying in India and expecting baby in Nov 2019 and she wants to stay in India
until the baby is delivered and come to Canada in March/April 2019

my question(s) are:

1. How to get the paper work for the new born baby and
2. How to extend my wife COPR validity to another few months

The Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) is issued. Note that this will have an expiry date and you MUST land to declare PR on or before that date, or you will have to start the whole process again. It will normally be printed in the VO that processed the application and posted from that location. You should carefully check the information on the CoPR to make sure it is complete and correct, errors must be corrected immediately. In particular, note the CoPR expiry date. You MUST land and declare PR before that date. Do not leave it until the last few days, as flights may be cancelled, or you may fall ill preventing you from flying. If you miss the expiry date, you will have to restart the sponsorship process as it is highly unlikely that CIC will extend the date after it has expired, no matter the reason.

I would seriously re-think your plans. You have very little chance of getting the CoPR validity date extended. Also what province are you going to live in in Canada? I ask because some provinces (e.g. Ontario) have a three month wait for medical insurance services.

I guess I am saying that your wife should look to EITHER:

1. Fly into Canada NOW, which would give her three months while still pregnant, then your Canadian medical insurance should kick in and cover the costs of the childbirth in Canada and stay in Canada.

OR

2. Fly into Canada NOW and do a 'soft landing' to activate her CoPR, then return to have the baby overseas and return after the birth. I don't know what the process would be for getting the baby into Canada though, others I am sure do.

For 2) the baby would need to be sponsored for PR by a parent who is physically resident in Canada. It can't be sponsored by a non-resident PR parent.

Option 1 is by far away the best one. Option 2 is likely to be traumatic for all involved and may well result in an extended period of family separation.

1) You have to wait until the child is born. Then, if the child is not born a Canadian citizen, submit a sponsorship application.
2) You don't/can't.

However, if the mother has not landed by the time the child is born, the child would need to be added to the original application before the mother could then land. This might be a way to prolong the application period as a new COPR will be issued to the mother and the child. A new medical examination may be required for the mother.

You don't need to worry about extending the COPR, as it will no longer be valid after she gives birth without landing. Once the child is born, you will notify IRCC and add him/her to the app. This generally takes 3-4 months. Your wife will be required to return the COPR she has. The child will be processed and then both of them will be required to submit passports for the issuance of the COPRs/visas. If your wife's medical is expired by that point, IRCC will either extend it or require that she do a new medical.

My COPR is getting expire in couple of weeks and my child profile is not added to the application, I informed IRCC about the newborn multiple times but no response. In such scenario should I do soft landing or should I wait for IRCC to respond for Reissue COPR. Please advice
