Hi all,

I received my CoPR in the mail today. My question is: I already had intentions to visit my husband and stay with him this coming Saturday, just as a visit. We have an important religious holiday coming up that we need to prepare for, and it's also relatively short notice to try to pack all my things if I were to confirm this weekend; would they allow me to visit without confirming my permanent residency (if it matters any, I'm a US citizen, so I'm visa exempt), even with having the document? For those couple reasons we'd like to wait until the holidays are over, so around beginning to mid-July we would go together to officially confirm and bring the rest of my belongings. At least that's the plan, assuming there's no issues with it.

The CoPR itself is valid until late January 2017.

Thanks. :D

yes, absolutely you can visit instead of land. just don't bring your copr with you. if it comes up (very unlikely), just explain the situation to them. there will be no issue visiting before landing. the other option is you can fill out a B4 list of all your belongings you plan to move with (also known as your good to follow list), bring it with you when you go visit, process the COPR and land, then return back home as planned to finish your move. that way the landing is out of the way, and you can focus on everything else later. which ever works best for you. both are options. congrats!

When I landed a few weeks ago they said I can declare my belongings B4 at anytime but you can only do it once. I'm going to bring what's left of my belongings to Canada from the states this summer. So I landed and declared nothing at that time, Might be an option for you? Land this weekend and bring your belongings later.
Congrats on your COPR!

To land and then bring goods at a later date the OP will also need to fill out a B4A goods to follow list of the items they plan to bring on the next trip.

Not completely true, you can submit the goods to follow at a later time it does not have to be when you officially "land"
