Hi,
Is there any way the COPR issuance can be expedited?
I'm from a visa exempt country and sent copies of my passport etc to Ottawa at the beginning of the month.
If anyone knows if this is possible please let me know.

Much appreciated!

no it's not possible. i would recommend checking the status on your ecas. if it's changed to decision made, that means your copr is in the mail. generally, i think ottawa has a 2-4 week turn around time for copr's, assuming no further application information was requested.

My MP told me since it's time of holidays, I will probably get my passport and COPR back by the end of January. I sent it to Ottawa on Dec 3... I mean, you can hope for it sooner probably (I have a different case), but count in the holidays for sure...

your situation is different since you require a visa and you don't even know if your passport was received properly. the original poster is VISA EXEMPT, therefore all that's needed is a copy of the passport to issue the visa, so it is not the same process at all. i highly doubt it will take 8+ weeks for ottawa to send out a copr document to a visa exempt applicant, when all they do with the copy of the passport is confirm the passport is valid and hasn't changed, then type up the copr document to mail out. some people don't even get passport requests, so again - it's VERY different and will NOT be the same as you experience.

i would suggest looking at the ottawa spreadsheet to see what the latest "trend" is for PPR to DM and COPR arrival for VISA EXEMPT Applicants in ottawa. it's certainly NOT going to be the same for those who require a visa counterfoil inserted in their passport.

I agree, my situation is definitely different, but I still think holidays will prolong the thing for a few days. Probably not until the end of Jan (like for me). I really hope I am wrong though, just wanted to remind that it is holiday season :(

while it can be true the holidays will slow things down, CIC does not shut down for 2 weeks. there are still people working. i guess time will tell if it actually affects anything.

My status is already decision made but they don't automatically send out my COPR... I had to send an xpresspost letter addressed to me as well as the copies of my passport, immigration photos as well as the appendix B completed. I figured the turn around time is around the 2-4 week mark but I'm in a situation where I need my COPR asap. Thanks for the response!

When did you send out your package to CIC?
my spouse just sent in her passport and the return envelope and CIC got it on Dec 19..
we was hoping for a Jan 15 move date but now it looks like we may need to plan for later, especially considering the holiday season

I sent my PPR on December 4th.. reached their office on the 8th though.

They got my PPR in Ottawa on 4th dec, I received COPR(well my mailbox did I'm out of country) on 19th. If same trend continues you should get it soon.

Great news! But I guess it would still be a bit slower considering the holidays~

Congratz! I have been following the Sydney thread and I knew since you received yours mine hopefully will come to me before the new year. I am factoring in the Christmas/Boxing day holiday. Would be a great start to 2015 if I was able to receive my COPR before this :)

I'm in the same situation as you Yokies. My status was already decision made back on Oct 31st, then they requested the same stuff as you which they received on Dec 3rd. So I'm really hoping they mail my COPR within the next week, since it's now almost three weeks. My visa expires Jan 13th, so hoping to get it before then so it doesn't effect my job
