If that was the case, how come applicants continue to get the portal invite now? I get that it's slowed down, but portal invite hasn't stopped coming.
Any that I have seen that last month have been outland applications . Maybe im wrong just seems a hell of a lot of people stuck at the same status going back to October at least
The applicant who received portal invite yesterday was an inland applicant. She got COPR details on tracker on Oct 6. I know a lot of people are stuck at this stage so there might be a long queue or backlog of some sort, but IRCC is still issuing.
That's good news anyways! Obviously a long wait but at least someone's got one. I feel like I haven't seen anyone get portal invite in months!
I joined a group which has 23 Chinese applicants (inland) Most of them have finished medical exam, background check and eligibility yet not a single one has recieved the portal invite...
It's definitely slowed down to an almost stationary stage...
23 applicants is definitely not nearly large enough to have any statistical significance. Sure, it shows a trend, perhaps, but the other person here was suggesting IRCC may have stopped issuing portal invites or eCOPR, and I was just trying to prove that they were factually wrong.
People here might read that and start to panic or feel a variety of negative emotions, which was why I felt it was a good idea to show IRCC is indeed still issuing portal invites.
Oh I've seen quite a few people receiving portal invite in the last couple of months!
The thing to be aware of is that whatever we read from forums like this is not statistically significant because not all applicants are on the forums and not everyone updates their status here. People who come to forums are often those who encountered difficulties, experienced delay, etc, and so it's kind of like a vocal minority. It's certainly good to know there are other people going through the same difficulties, but we really shouldn't make any conclusions based on what we read on forums.
Oh for sure, and I'm sure I have too across various forums. I just think the large amount of people who are waiting have drowned them out a bit in my mind, haha. Even before we got DM/everything done I was seeing a lot of people waiting, and now I feel like I'm seeing more - but it's probably selection bias, haha!
