Hi all,

Looking for some guidance on this topic.

My wife and I had our CoPR's issued on the 27th of September and I had been trying to arrange an appointment in the local IRCC office in Calgary.

On the 25th of October, my wife gave birth to our first child (baby girl) in Calgary, and I realized that we need to inform CIC of the newborn.

Should I inform them of the new addition by webform or should we attend the appointment (not set yet) and explain things at that point?

If I wait until the appointment, what will I have to explain during the interview? What documents should I produce as proof?

Any help with this topic would be greatly appreciated.

Congratulations !!! Since the child is a Canadian citizen, it will not be an issue or hold you up. You can notify IRCC by webform, you just need to upload a copy of the child's birth certificate. You will probably not get any reply, so bring that with you to your appointment as well...

Hi,

My wife is also pregnant and may deliver baby in next few weeks in Canada. Our application for PR is under processing.
Could you please share your experience about your case?
What documents did you show CIC to inform them about your baby? I see that Ontario has 3 kinds of birth certificate (birth certificate, birth certificate with parental information, and certified copy of birth registration), so which one did they require you to submit?

Hope to receive your reply soon.
Thank you
