COPR issued, but use for landing immediately

Hi everyone, I got some questions about my current situation, it would be greatly appreciated if anyone could share experience here.

My wife is the sponsor, she is living in Canada with my daughters, and I'm the primary applicant. We submitted the application in Nov-2016. They asked for FBI clearance in March.

In March, since we didn't know when will the application be approved, I planned to visit my wife and daughters in Canada during summer holiday (July) and we planned (bought plane ticket & booked hotel) a family vacation to the US

In the beginning of April, I provided the FBI Clearance. With a big surprise, our application status changed to "Decision Made" and I got my COPR by the end of May.

Having the COPR was so great and exciting after long wait… after I calm down and re-access my situation, it will be quite awkward.

Next month, I will travel to Canada with my passport (only eTA required for my country), stayed there for a few days. As planned in last March, I will take my wife and daughters to the US for around a week, then go back to Canada together. I will stay in Canada for a few more days before going back to my country at the end of July.

My question is that since my passport is used to apply for permanent residency and COPR has issued, can I still travel as planned above without doing landing process at all?

Anyone has similar situation?

You can, but don't you want to do the landing process next month? You know you can do a soft landing, right?

Hi Classic Chucks, thanks for your reply. I know I can do soft landing, but I will take my family for vacation to US. By the time of returning to Canada, I don't have PR card yet.

Maybe I confused you, I am not US citizen.
I'm traveling from Hong Kong to Canada in July, from there I travel with my family from Canada to the US for a week, then go back to Canada.
We have booked two-way plane tickets from Vancouver (via Toronto) to Florida.

All the vacation planning was done before I got the COPR, I didn't plan to land this time. I afraid Canada immigration has rules that do NOT allow me going in and out without landing.

My fault for assuming you are a US Citizen. With all that talk about FBI and US stuff, I assumed right away. Anyway, sure you can go in and out without landing yet. You can do your proper landing whenever you feel like to as long as your COPR is still valid. Treat your travel as you normally would without having your COPR at hand.

Are you doing your landing then from the USA?

When we are going back from vacation, my ticket is from Florida > Toronto > Vancouver. At which point can I do landing?

You will do the landing at first international arrival point in Canada, so Toronto.

There will be no immigration process when you fly from Toronto to Vancouver, since that is a domestic flight.
