Hope you get your Passport soon. I did tatkal to be away from this VFS dramas. i understand your situation. You should get it soon. dont worry.

For landing: You need your passport, COPR and make list of goods that you want to bring in while you move so that you can fill them when they ask you to fill the Goods to follow form while landing. Also be prepared to stay there for 14-days. As there is a mandatory quarantine on Canada side once you enter. So make preparations like booking airbnb and getting groceries from Usa(if travelling by road).

while returning to US, your both passports and valid i797A, if you are travelling by road.

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate it. If I tell them I can travel to Canada, will they ask for Passport for CoPR ? What if I dont get the passport in until next month ?

: You will need your passport for getting a one time visiting visa to be stamped for landing along with your CoPR. I am not sure how long is the wait for sending back your Passport and CoPR now. It depends on the wait time. Assuming you get back your New passport from Embassy by mid-Jan and you send it to IRCC the very next day,even if you get your passport and CoPr back by 03/30/2021. you can still travel on the next day(03/31) right. Good Luck. Dont worry.

Is it possible to just cross border and return back in a car ? I am in Seattle and can do that but since we are in the middle of pandemic is it wise to do this ?

Yes, people are doing soft landings. Check the recent threads. But just to be on safer side, plan for your quarantine, if in case if the Cbsa officer does not allow you to soft land, then it will be helpful.

Hello, I just got an updated counterfoil on my application profile but they did not ask for sending passport to get the new visa stamped. How does the new one time visa works if the one I have on my passport is expired ?
