COPR document destroyed!! How to get it reissued

Hi All,

I just found out that my COPR document is destroyed by Fungi (insects) during this monsoon. There were two copies, one for CIC and other for the personal record. CIC copy is copmletely destroyed whereas my personal copy is still identifiable and readable.

I am sure in the present condition, immigration office will not accept it at the Port of Entry. So, is there any process through which I can get it replaced/re-issued? My PR was issued from New Delhi VO during 1st week of Oct.

I am landing on 17.Feb and so this, kind of becomes urgent. Appreciate your help/guidance.

You can ask CIC for a replacement.

Thanks for sharing these links. They explain the process unambigiously. But, surprisingly, the processing time for processing a Verification of Status application is 6 Months :O

My PR is expiring around 1st week of March and so I have to travel before that. As per the timeline shown on CIC website, it doesn't look like I can get COPR reissued before my travel.

Does anybody has any experience with COPR re-issue or know of any alternative faster way?

There have been cases in this forum, where people had mistakes in COPR and they showed up at the border, and CBSA printed them a new COPR right then and there.

You can try your luck with this. I'd suggest calling CIC too.
