So my COPR arrived! (yay!!!) but I noticed that two things there seem odd. There is something called 'original entry date' and it gives one of my entries to Canada from 2015 but I first came to Canada as a visitor in 2014, and then as a temporary resident I entered in November 2014 (from which time I had my work permit). Same problem with the 'last entry' date, which gives it as May 2016, but there were at least a few more entries when I was travelling (and we applied in October 2016, so I would have submitted entry stamps from, for instance, July 2016). Also, I literally just came back from the US, so technically the date of my last entry is 2.04.2017 - is this going to be a problem at landing? Should I get in touch with IRCC and let them know they made a mistake, or just go ahead and head to the border (I want to land via a land crossing, even though I already live in Canada). Or are these dates somehow meaningful to them? I read through the COPR and instructions there and it only says that corrections to COPR should include misspelled names, passport numbers, declared family members, and date of birth and passport validity date - nothing about these entry dates... so what should I do?

Land. CBSA can correct that at the border.

aaaah, that's wonderful! Would you happen to know how they do that? Do they print the COPR off again on the spot? Or just amend the original document? I am wondering if I should bring extra photos (if they're going to issue another, amended one) of myself. Also, for them to correct these dates, I guess my passport with the entry stamps should suffice?

Thanks so much for your answer :)

I believe they just note it on the existing COPR and update it in the system. The passport should suffice.

Thanks!

So, i called CIC today, and the agent told me that, apparently, the officer at the border cannot change these dates (which strikes me as odd?) and she told me to send Ottawa a web form only, which is apparently to suffice for them to issue me a new COPR... is this true? I mean, how are they going to re-send it to me if I don't send them a pre-paid self-addressed envelope, which they seem to be insisting on? And what about another photo? She told me I don't need to send the incorrectly issued COPR back, but this seems a bit fishy to me. So I am back to where I started, I don't know what to do. I assume it's always possible to amend the landing record and COPR after I landed, though she told me it's advised to have the document corrected before I land... should I just go ahead an try to land on this COPR? I did send them a web form, but I am worried they will not reply at all, or that it will take them a long time, and so I don't know, maybe I should follow the instructions in the sheet they attached to the COPR (which suggest that if there are mistakes I should send the document back and indicate the necessary corrections... but I am afraid that, again, this will take a long time :/

IRCC and CBSA are not the same agency. The call center agent at IRCC is not going to know what CBSA can/can't do at landing procedures. The fact your entry dates are not correct as you know them to be has no bearing on your landing. it's not going to be an issue. It doesn't even come up in the procedure and they don't ask you to confirm that information.

don't listen to call center agents who haven't applied for spousal sponsorship and landed as PRs. listen to people here who have. or, if you really need someone "official" to tell you what to do, call the CBSA office you plan to land at and see what they say. it's a non issue. you are making this more difficult than needed. go land and enjoy life as a PR.

You're absolutely right! I just called them again, and this time received a different answer ;) But this time they did confirm that I can land with that COPR and then just request and amendment (which we'll see if it's necessary once I talk to the CBSA officer at the border). Phew! What a relief ;) I simply got scared and confused because I know COPR is important for future citizenship procedures and so on, and so I was afraid that there would be future problems with that. But, now I am no longer going to whine, I'm going to head off to a land border and, as you say, enjoy landing :D

Thanks!
