COPR and Passport proof to reenter after Sep 29, 2016

Dear respected members,

Can COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence) be used to re-enter Canada from US by car, till the time PR card is processed in Canada. This is after I complete initial landing process and get back in the US.

How about the same after Sep 29, 2016( date from which eTA and PRTD is mandatory across all Canadian borders). Is this gonna change anything?

if you dont have PR card you can use your COPR letter and PP to enter in canada by road.
but if you are planning to travel by air then you required to apply for ETA based on your copr letter ...

1. No, s/he would require a PRTD after Sept. ETAs are not issued to Canadian nor PRs.

Hi - Just want to confirm again and a lot of people are telling me that I can re-enter canada with COPR by road if I use my private vehicle to go from Detroit to Toronto. Has there been any rule change? Can I still do it?
