Hi Team,

My COPR is expiring on 31st May 2021.
Not 100% sure, but my organization is planning to switch me to Canada branch. In case that happens, will I be exempted from travel restrictions?

I have selected the followed in IRCC Canada entry questionnaire:
3-Which best describes you or your reason for entry into Canada? (required)
Work activities or employment reasons
4-Which best describes the nature of your work in Canada?
Technician or specialist (supporting critical infrastructure)

and the result was: likely be allowed.

Please advise.
We are all individuals and not a team :)

Guys just saw news about copr holders going through mental health issues and taking negative steps.. just wanna say this too shall pass.. even if our copr has expired, all of our applications are open.. ircc will let us all in

Please can you share email subject and format used. Emailed the same address you sent to on the 17th got the auto reply that they won't respond if they did not ask me to email them. Did you get this response also?
Only use that email for follow up. If you have received a request from that email then only you can reply otherwise it is of no use and cause clutter for you and for others too.

The person I was responding to emailed them without an email from them and got a response in 4 days directing them on extending the COPR. They seem confused. Why answer some and not everyone ?

I am not sure what is their criteria and how they are shortlisting people for issuing CoPR extensions. But what I have learnt from my experience that everyone's situation is different so you should not compare your case with others. It's just the matter of fact when your file will be picked for assessment. Even if they reply to your email then it is not the surety that they will issue you CoPR extension at once. There are people in this thread who are still waiting for CoPR extensions from IRCC after being instructed to redo the meds.

It's just like playing ping pong with IRCC and it's them who will be serving first. All you need to make sure not to hold the ball at your side for so long.

I keep looking in my email...and also the updates here. Just waiting for that mail from them. Also, like you said the fact that they do ask you for re medicals, and then disappear again! That's disappointing.

how long does it usually take to receive an update-(an AL + COPR ), after GCKEY gets updated with new medicals?. @whyCorona
I directly received CoPR on GCkey and AL over the email after 2 weeks on my remeds. I did not receive any meds update on GCkey. If you have received the meds update then you should probably wait for 1 week before shooting a followup email and webform to IRCC.

This is one of the reasons I wanted to start my own process ahead of time. Their disappearing act is baffling. I did not want any unnecessary delays when I was ready to travel. Plus they are already overwhelmed with emails/webforms/application queries from before and after March 18 2020 applicants. I can only imagine what would happen once restriction is lifted.

I can only imagine your frustration. Like someone said, everyone's case is different and I don't know why they responded to my email. It's a "not one size fits all" process with IRCC.

Getting a job would be difficult :(

Did anyone from India who got Copr before March 18 , 2020 got contacted by IRCC ?
Yes, I got a 4-pt email in September from IRCC asking if I can travel within 60 days. But didn't hear back from them when I replied and sent the documents they requested.

I also got a 'Do you still want to immigrate' email on 15th March'21 from IRCC which I've replied to but haven't heard back yet.
