You are right..one person got pcc request from ottawa vo.as pcc had expired last year.
PPCs do not have expiry dates but if IRCC finds a match or suspicion about a person after investigation then they can surely ask for PCC again. So that person you are talking about could be some doubtful case. Some countries put expiry date on PPCs; maybe he is from one of those countries.

There should be reason for asking for PCC again and I don't believe that it could be knowingly adding a delay. Otherwise people with remeds could be getting the re PCC requests from IRCC. You can find more on that after researching how IRCC verifies about applicant's criminality and its not just the PCC. Any slightest doubt could lead to PCC again e.g. if an applicant named Binod (DOB xx/yy/zz) is waiting for CoPR extension and some other bad guy named Binod with same DOB xx/yy/zz committed a crime then it could lead to PPC request for good guy Binod.

Does CIC allow to extend the expiry date of COPR and Visa issued, due to Covid-19 or one has to travel before the visa expiry date?

My parents got COPR in Nov 2020, and the visa is valid till Feb 2021, my parents are not comfortable travelling right now because of COVID-19. Any suggestions are welcome

Can anyone help me answer this question? Thank you

The case everyone is talking about that's 2 years old AOR case. If you review your GCMS notes, criminality checks (registered based on your PCC) are valid for 2 years as a part of the internal check by a case officer.

In his case, the date of criminality check has been expired, and this is one of the exception case who has been asked for new PCC.

You guys should not apply all scenarios to "your" application. Every application is unique and treated accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Sorry my mistake.....I think you can travel up to 8 months into the pregnancy.
This forum has some info -https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/pregnant-after-copr.636499/

Its best to inform them. But after the baby is born before landing you definitely have to inform and then there is reprocessing of application. I just don’t know how long it takes.
Thank you for the information. I hope we can keep each other posted regarding our updates. I don't think anyone else have had the same experience on this forum.

Hello Everyone,

I'm an inland applicant, submitted an express entry application on May 30th with all the documents but biometrics. I have submitted my biometrics on November 3rd. I also received the same ghost update where the CIC website was showing 502 error for hours, then showed application updated, and then status changed to submitted at last. Is there anyone in the same situation and received COPR?

That's something to worry about because many AoR are around 18-20 months old already. If they keep on delaying like this, PCC is gonna expire for many applicants.

I don't see anything to be worried here at all. But if you will start applying all scenarios on 'your' application, then you'll be worried only.

There is nothing in our hands (except following CIC's next steps), and I will suggest you all to go with the flow. For instance, earlier, there were no communication from IRCC side. Then, gradually, they started sending out 3/4 pointer emails. Then, we noticed ALs too. Now, people have started receiving re-medicals also. Moreover, there is too much noise on social medial platforms also.

Considering all these updates (I know CIC is super slow in handling COPR expired cases), you all should remain positive still. Remember that, CIC is still working on COPR expired cases. We all know they should have dealt with such cases in a better way, there is a lack of process refinement for sure. But, we all should also understand they're not cancelling your COPRs or PR visas, so cheer up!

Look at the positives and be motivated by all these updates. Stay strong!
