Congratulations!!!Hi Guys,
I landed exactly 3 weeks ago and post quarantine completed all the formalities this week like SIN, Bank, Driving license etc. SIN -Just I went in person (did not fix an appointment) without any address proof and got it within minutes, but only few locations are open for walk in. So check that which location is open before you go. Bank - Booked an appointment with TD and got formalities done on the spot. They also approved me a 1000 CAD unsecured credit card. Driving license - I carried DL extract from India (issued by a local RTO) and the Driving license (Name as appeared in the passport) along with COPR, passport. They waived off the waiting period and approved me to go for G test directly. However, I will take G2 and then go for G since I used to RHD. They did not ask any letter from consulate. OHIP - Need to apply after getting the hard copy of monthly bank statement or G1 license paper, which has Canadian address. No waiting period (courtesy COVID). Got PRESTO card for local public transport and in general, public transport is punctual and easy to move around without any hassles.
Overall, many services have opened up recently for walk in, which is a good sign.
Job market - Market is picking up and getting decent response from hiring agencies. In fact, already I landed a job (good enough for starters) in my profession and joining this Monday. Of course, lots of effort from my side to connect with people / agencies / employers from the day 3 on my landing in Canada. With efforts, we can land a job for sure.
All in all, right time to be in Canada if you can make it and I would suggest not to be too much of conservative about job market.
Let me know if I can help you.
All the best.
Wow such a positive experience! Glad to hear it worked out so well for you.Hi Guys,

did you receive a reply???Hello guys! My question may sound redundant but I am little anxious so asking again, please answer to your best knowledge. Request!
My CoPR expired on June 8, 2020 and due to Covid-19 I was unable to travel. Anyhow I was able to book my tickets for August 18, 2020.
I filled a webform on 26 july 2020 about my future itinerary with valid ticket and quarantine plan (my brother is citizen of Canada). On 31 July 2020, I received a generic reply that my information is verified and they will contact me if further decision is made on your file.
Its been a week I received no reply and now I am worried about my travel on August 18. Please guide me what else I could do (or my Canadian citizen brother)
Thank you!
Hello,
Landed this week. No problems with checkin in on flight or afterwards. That lady took some time to put information about my visa, but it all was fine. If I hadn't an overweight in my luggage, no-one would even ask me to show my documents.
My Co-PR was issued before the 18th of March + I also had visa in my passport.
Flew via Helsinki by Finnair. However, then I flew by Air France and with 8 hour flight we only had 1 meal. I didn't care, but this could be important to some people?
Had to wait for 2 hours in line in order to get to the immigration officer. He has asked me about the purpose of my visit, where I worked back home, had I ever committed a crime? and so on ....did not ask the proof of funds paper.
After 3 minutes he has stamped my papers, that's it.
What address did you use for the PR card? Were you able to use a friend or families address or did you have some other arrangement?Hello,

Hi, glad to hear things are working out well for you. Just curious, were you able to use a friend/family's address for your PR card delivery?Hi Guys,

hello!
Ah I see! You are most welcome! Thanks for the response, but for my brother's case the COPR is yet to be issued for spouse so was confused with the status reflecting as inventory-spr, will be calling IRCC to understand this.
You said you will quarantine yourself at you sisters place. Is your sister living in saskatchewan or Toronto. And what about address of you provide for your PR cards. How did you manage it. I hope your answers will help me as I am also planning for the soft landing as soon as I am ready to travel by the end of the year. I have also my sister living in Ottawa but I'm nominated by sask province. So is it possible I can give her address in Ottawa for my PR cards to get deliver or should I need to give an address in saskatchewan only.See, I was under the same impression and worried when I was planning to fly as temp lander... it depends on immigration guy, for me I luckily got the best immigration guy at that point of time, he never asked me anything only said that you need to be in 14 days quarantine and welcome to Canada, yes before that there is a police check, please check below:-
> In plane they will provide you the 14 days quarantine declaration form, in which you need to provide your basic details, name DOB, address in Canada, flight details and all that stuff,
> once you arrived you will be directed to Self-service kiosk where you need to scan your passport and input other details on touch screen, basically they are immigration questions if you are bringing any edible stuff, how much money you have and very basic questions, system will take your picture and you need to declare that everything is true to best of your knowledge, Its all YES & NO answer's you don't have to write anything. Once done, you click submit and that machine will provide you one small chit with your details and you than proceed to police counter.
> Police counter has asked me how much money I am carrying with me, as you are carrying more than 10K Canadian dollar you need to declare the exact amount as they will write that on that chit, and they said where you will quarantine yourself and you need to provide the details, if this is airbnb, relative etc.. they asked me how I will manage my grocery stuff in this 14 days quarantine period, I informed them that I will be living with my sister so no issues, than she directed me to immigration.
> As I said , immigration guy was very nice, and once we approached there, we handed over him our COPR & Passport, after 1 minute he said you need to provide me the address where they can send the PR cards, which I did. and he asked us to wait for 5 minutes, we waited and he called my name and he said congratulations you are permanent residence now, and welcome to Canada, don't forget to quarantine yourself for 14 days which is mandatory and that's it. We proceed to pick our luggage,
So, all in all you don't have to worry or overthink about the process, its very seamless experience for me and most of the others who arrived Canada recently, just ensure that you are confident when your answer, keep your quarantine plan handy and ready like where you live and how you will mange your grocery stuff, and that's it,
Let me know if you have any questions and am happy to answer, just relax and fly. Thanks.
We are not supposed to make bookings unless untill we get ETA.So I think we just need to assure them we are travelling to permanently settle.
I have already submitted my settlement plan. Should I again raise a webform? We are not supposed to make bookings unless untill we get ETA.So I think we just need to assure them we are traveling to permanently settle.
