I raised a webform about 4 days ago too stating my situation (My application was approved right before 18th March but I was unable to collect my passport so it is still at VAC which is shutdown). I haven't received a response yet - hoping to receive it by early next week else I will call. Quick question - you mention "unable to travel" webform so is that any different? I visited a link displaying covid 19 information on IRCC website that was shared here and followed through from there. Thought there is just really one webform.
Same my parents passport is also at VFS. Are you from India ?

It's not mandatory to travel. If you can't or unwilling to travel, you'll get an extension. Raise a webform and inform them of your situation.

I just raised a webform stating my unwillingness to travel (COPR expiring in mid july). I think we'll be fine but realistically we may have to wait for few months for the extensions to come through or atleast be prepared with the mindset that its gonna take few months just to avoid unnecessary panic/tension.

1. They will extend your and everyone's visa.
2.Travel restrictions and exemptions will all be soon lifted, mid-July early-August latest.
i hope we won’t have to renew our medicals

Approved CoPRs and PRVs

Applicants for permanent residence who are in possession of a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (CoPR) or Permanent Resident Visa (PRV) must inform IRCC, using a Web form, if they cannot travel before the expiry date of the document.

Files will then be processed according to an applicant’s specific circumstances.

Those with valid COPR and PRV and who are unable or unwilling to travel must inform IRCC so a note stating their situation can be added to their file. A reminder must also be added to the file related to the expiry date of the document. If the event the applicant becomes able to travel before the expiry date of the COPR and PRV, they will be encouraged to use their existing document to land in Canada.

Individuals whose COPRs and PRVs have expired and who have informed IRCC of their inability or unwillingness to travel prior to the expiry date of the document will have their files re-opened and reviewed within 90 days.

Reopening of applications

Once the applicant has informed IRCC via the Web form that they can travel, the application can be reopened for re-approval provided the applicant and their family members, whether accompanying or not, have passed immigration medical examinations, criminal and security checks and have valid passports.

If the 60-day waiting period has passed and the applicant has still not informed IRCC that they are able to travel, a note must be added to the application for consideration after an additional 60 days.

Since the pandemic began IRCC has reiterated that it will not close or refuse applications that are currently in progress due to missing documents. IRCC has introduced a variety of special policy measures and increased flexibility during the COVID-19 pandemic to accommodate as many foreign nationals as possible.

this is our part

As per trend, they're extending medicals validity without check up. But, it's their call if they wish they might ask for it.

Experience of services in Ontario these days :-

1. SIN can can be applied online and usually received in 10-12 days. (I received it with error in my Given a Name:), I am finding ways to get it rectified)
2. DriveTest locations are closed so far till further orders, but may be there is one open in downtown, need to check. Don’t follow google maps for DriveTest opening timings as it’s showing all are open but in actual they are closed. So better to call.
3. Ontario is giving Health Cards right away. It hardly takes 15 minutes, you will be provided with a paper having your health card number, actual card will receive in three weeks. You can register you family doctor on paper card as well because it’s having you health card number with version. So it’s hardly two hours process to get the paper health card and register a family doctor in your area.
Hi,

I am traveling on 28 june. since ontario is giving instant health cards, do I need to take travel insurance before flying or not ?

Anyone from India who raised webform regarding ability to travel and got a reply or any change in their cic profile
Hi,

I wrote to them earlier in End May that due to non-availability, I may not be travel and they replied that I can, I must but I need to have a plan for quarantine. Later, I booked fights in Vande Bharat phase 3 and informed them about my willingness to travel. Nothing changed, they sent a reply that I need to doc and I can travel.
My file is in Delhi office and I have been writing to them

Does anybody has some information on whether we need to buy travel insurance because Ontario state is offering instant health card as I read it here on the forum?
Please advice if anyone has travel recently

Has anyone of FSW-Outland applicants had their file re-opened? As per the Guidelines an officer is to reopen a file upon receipt of a web-form informing inability to travel. I sent that form on the 18th of March, but my file hasn't been touched since then.
I have also noticed today that Paris VAC is re-opening on 15th of June. Is there anyone here on this thread whose VAC is Paris? Any news?
When to review a re-opened application
Once the applicant informs IRCC via the Web form that they are able to travel, a re-opened application may be re-approved provided that the applicant and their family members, whether accompanying or not, have valid immigration medical examinations, criminal and security checks and passports.

If the 60-day waiting period elapses and the applicant has not informed us that they are able to travel, a note should be placed in the application, and it should be brought forward for review for an additional 60 days.

No it's not their call. They will extend everyone without medicals. What's not clear is the duration, is it 3 months or 6 months, or is it case by case basis. This is probably hard for them to determine now.

They never declared that they wouldn't require us doing re-medicals. Besides, they removed that sections with M1 and M3 from the instruction. Why are you sure, they won't require us? I would be happy, if that is the case, because I am afraid the process would take another 3-4 months. I wonder how much time takes extension of COPR in normal conditions (I have heard, there have been cases before pandemic).
