Hello everyone,

hope you all are keeping safe and well in these difficult times. I am really stressing out here. Our documents expire on 02/06 (we are British - family of 5 excluding my husband, our last addition 4th child was born in Canada anyway and does not really require the landing process however she is only 1.5 years old I can not leave her behind). We were planning to land in Easter holidays however those plans failed long time a go.
Now I am in a very confused state of mind health vs immigration. I have received the generic email twice saying if we were approved before March 2020 we shall continue to make plans to land...shall I contact them? Shall I go ahead and land? Of course we need to follow 14 days isolation plan - I am hoping to book in to hotel or airbnb. It’s too chaotic in my head because I have 4 dependent to worry for. What do you suggest? Just want another point of view at the moment ✌✌
I am following gthis thread for long, if you CoPR & Visa issue before 18th March , you can travel without issue, as there are some member's on the forum who travelled recently, in terms of hotel or Airbnb, I believe Airbnb is much better because hotel's bit expensive... Thanks'

Hi @

Today, got email from Emirates that my flight (Dubai-Toronto) which was booked for 5th June is now cancelled, and Dnata representative told me that none of the normal flights will gonna operate till June end at least.. this was as per current situation..
Fingers crossed as my COPR expiry is 7th July..
Man that's sad to hear, but good news is Emirates Airline will refund your money back, not like Etihad, My CoPR is expiring on 01/Sep/2020 as well, better to change the date and get something 1st week on July.

Hi guys..airindia has started booking for canada as part of phase 2 repatriation. I have recetly booked two tickets for 21st May from Delhi. Had called airindia and they said if we have letter from cic it should work.

Ditto. I have booked a flight too since AI people told me the same. However, I plan to use the publically available information on the page to substantiate my claim that I can travel. CoPR expires 23 June 2020 though.

Any ideas as to what else can be used and how we can get an email from CIC/High commission so fast ?

Even I'm booked on the same flight. Finally it's good to see that I'm not the only COPR who booked one of the special flights. My COPR was anyways supposed to expire on 31st May and this was my last chance. Hope it all goes well!

Happy Mothers Day X 4...super family responsibilities so congratulations for the nice family! I have one - who is a handful.

Now - this may be less than popular line of thought! :) First off as we are increasingly realising this stuff is here for a while. Thus travelling when it is feasible would be my personal choice. June is not far away but there is news of some flights opeating from LHR and other European ports. Something you might consider would be the ease of isolation with young ones around. But at least in Toronto, from Walmart to restaurants to grocery delivery and even beer at your doorsteps is abundant. :)

Anyone flew with air Canada recently? This is what they ask if I do the check-in from the app:

My passport is not Canadian so I should pick "yes" but then they won't let me check-in. I hope this will be sorted out if I do the check-in at the airport.

Hi all,

I received my landing visa yesterday. I live in the United States. Can I do a soft landing next week? I need to come back to U.S. Is there anyone in a similar situation who has landed recently?

Thank you for the reply. few more questions.

1. Did you sign the physical COPR document (IRCC Copy) before sending or send it as it is?
2. You only send the IRCC copy or client copy as well?
3. Also, did you send any extra photo or the photo which is on the IRCC copy is enough?

No, I didn't.

I sent both.

I sent one extra. I don't need to use the other photo anyways.

Hi All,

I'm already in Canada and I received my Confirmation of PR on March 12th. The deadline for me to complete the soft landing is May 27th. I was planning the soft landing from the land border. The CBP website says that traveling to the border for PR is non-essential. Is there anyone here in a similar situation? Can I go to the border and get the soft landing done?

You need to call the airline. If you aren’t Canadian you may only be allowed to check in at the airport since they will need to confirm if you are elegible to travel to Canada.

Hi... a quick clarification... my husband and I are planning to self isolate in airbnb but to give our friends address for PR card and they will send that by post to us ... as we will return to US after 14 days of self isolation. Is it ok to give the same address for SIN also ? And also did u apply for health card? Is it necessary to apply for health card when we soft land or can we apply it when we settle there permanently?
Yes it is ok to give your friend's address for both. I have not applied for the health card as Service Ontario centres were closed. But now slowly they are opening up. So I will go.

Are there issues getting SIN at the airport?
There are no issues. They work only Mon to Friday (not sure about the timing but it may be 9 to 5). If you land on weekends and outside their working hours, you should go to the nearest Service Canada centre (closed now) or apply online.

Do you mean come back to US after 14 days of quarantine? I am going to do it this weekend.

I need to come back immediately. Could you please tell me more about your travel arrangements? By air or land?
Did you receive your CORP after March 18th? I thought you're not allowed to pass the border.
Also, aren't you worried about re-entry to the U.S. I am on J1 multiple visa.

Hi
Thank u so much for the reply. I checked the IRCC site for document requirement for applying SIN online since all the service centers are closed and they have asked these three:

primary doc - PR card or COPR letter
Secondary doc - Passport
Address proof - any letter like bill(insurance /electricity) or university correspondence or govt mail addressed to our name and address.

https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/services/sin/before-applying.html

So I am confused with the address proof part ..should I give my USA address as proof or give a letter with my friends name and address in Canada.

I know we can start the application of SIN only after we receive PR card and though we will be returning back to USA after that two weeks of isolation and we might be receiving the PR card later through post from our friend I would like to have a clarity on this address part for SIN

And health card can be applied when we move permanently right ?

Thanks in advance for your reply :) Hope u had a safe travel :)
