But i think the border agent was telling you to find out whether you could travel or not, not to find out which border point you can use.
Nops, I clarified in the mail itself that as per IRCC I am eligible (COPR approved on Feb-11), but wanted to check with CBSA if I can travel through land border or only through airlines. CBP on the other side replied that some of the land borders may not accept me to travel back to US, but I can come via airlines. The land border has more restrictions.

I see, yes land borders at the moment are being a lot stricter than traveling by air.

I think the reason would be that all the active airports are scanning passengers for health check, but what I heard is, at land borders they are not checking anything, so its all kind of self declaration if we have any symptoms or not.

Did he say how it is decided who is an "essential employee", I thought that refers only to doctors and nurses etc.

The CBSA did indeed say that they would process my COPR if I was willing to abide by the 14day self isolation and if I was coming to "settle permanently". Thanks for sharing all your info! :)

He didn't say what an essential employee was, I'm a Social Worker, we have letters from our HR department stating "we're allowed on the road, and are considered essential" so I just printed that out in case I was stopped/ asked about it.

That's good they said they would process the COPR....and remember, they told me the same thing that they would process it and we would have to self-isolate. It wasn't until I got to the border that the OFFICER stated I should turn around. We had prepared, packed, and had a place to stay for 14 days, so it was actually their idea....

Hi Lmac4, I just read somewhere that due to last weekend being an Easter weekend, CBSA and CBP were both very strict and refused many people to cross the border. I think that would be the case for you as well as you traveled on 11th.

One person has reported rejection on this forum but that was before the IRCC issued COVID-19 related information. No rejection has been reported after the instructions manual was issued. People are simply getting generic replies only.
Thanks dear for enlightening, this is what we understood in this forum, no rejection happened after COVID, but also no much visa extension confirmation.

You are allowed to go for grocery. Also lot of options available for ordering online and pickup at a designated time from the store. Moreover orders can be placed online for home delivery.
So one is allowed to do grocery during 14 day self-quarantine?

Hi, can you please give the link if the person who was refused. My copr expired in June mid but my tickets for May were cancelled by the airlines. I wish to see if they can extend. Would like to read/ know more about the refused case

TIA
Actually that person asked for extension much earlier. At that time there were no travel restrictions neither any flights were getting cancelled that's why his request was refused .But u say ur flight has been cancelled so you have a reason to claim. You should put the reason as flight cancellation for inability to travel.

Hello everyone. My PRV is expiring by October this year. In your opinion should I do the IRCC webform informing them that I can travel before my visa expires or should I wait first and do webform 2 months before the expiry of my PRV and COPR? I am so confused now because, to be honest given the situation that every country is facing, it seems like the "curve" for this virus will be flattened hopefully by around August (based on the projections that I have seen in news), that is why I am thinking if I should send a web form or not yet.

Thank you

Thank you

This is purely my opinion. I am in a similar position as you; my PRV/COPR expires late September and I'm booked to fly out early September. I am going to wait till first week of July, see how the situation develops and then at juncture, will send out a webform citing my position on travelling or inability to.

Reasons to wait (again, I stress, in my opinion are): 1) an improvement in the pandemic situation is possible, 2) sending a webform now is too soon and you'll unnecessarily give more work to the IRCC officer 3) I don't know which country you're from, but some home countries have terminated international flights, in which case, you don't know when they'll resume 4)IRCC themselves might understand the distinction of people who are able to travel, but are unwilling to because of health concerns and may issue some kind of specific advisory for this population.

Wait and see, my friend, is my advice.
