With the US travel ban, you won't even be allowed to board a plane going to the US even though it's just a transit flight. This happened to me last week, flying from Dublin to Toronto via New York.
Yes, you are right, i have just checked the news regarding the ban. Well, in this case, it may be even better for me as I do not have any control over that, hopefully it will play role in thei decision regarding possible extension.

So wanted to update you guys.

I flew in last week from Boston and a passenger on board tested positive. Officials traced me as well and I just got a test done and in self quarantine until I get the results.

I developed a slight fever yesterday.

I was lucky enough to have an apartment to quarantine myself in. For those who are relying on Airbnb and travelling with kids, be careful. It can happen to anyone.
Omg this is scary

in IRCC website it is telling that ''some nationals can travel from US if stayed here for the last 14 days''. I did not get, what they mean telling some nationals.

Because of people who are taking risk in travelling with CoPR prior to announcement are making IRCC annoyed, Check the tweet posted 1 min back

The travel exemptions announced on March 20 are not yet in effect for temporary foreign workers, international students or approved permanent residents that have not yet landed in Canada. Don’t travel before an announcement is made.

Also a warning note is added in link below:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-special-measures.html
Well its in my favour .As my copr expires on 25th March And still the travel ban is going on in Canada and India.I cancelled my flight for 21st due to this.I think they have no reason to reject my extension. But as my medical is expiring on 25th will they ask for remedical?
In the news letter of Campbell Cohen he has mentioned that
Applicants for permanent residence who are in possession of a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a Permanent Resident Visa (PRV) and who inform the IRCC that they are unable to travel will be able to maintain the validity of their documents.

What does it mean?

Hello all

Hope you are all doing good in this difficult time .

My application is approved on 16th march and it is valid until September 1st 2020 . as per the latest exemption news , it said ,it is valid before the travel ban is announced i.e on 16th . does it mean that 16th march approved COPR is also exempted ?

I have already booked my journey and stay . i will extend it if the situation is not improved .

Regards
Harsha

Sending positive thoughts your way, Ryan.

I hope you test negative.

It's a reminder to those of us who are travelling, it's a risk we're taking. Take all the precautions you can.

Raise webform mentioning that you are not able to travel as planned due to restrictions. They need to know if they want to cancel the CoPR or extend it. Extension can only be done if you inform them. If you have not informed them do it now.

I am unable to reach http://www.cic.gc.ca/ web-site, however I can reach https://www.canada.ca/. I had to use VPN to log into my Express Entry account. It is unreachable without VPN. Looks like my country is blocking cic web-site.
Extension can only be done if you inform them
I have raised one form saying I might not be able to travel. Shall I raise another one after my COPR expires? Or a day before it expires? (I feel my country will extend State of Emergency).

Hi Members,

My CoPR expiry is on 27th April (medicals expire on 27th April). We were planning for a soft landing on 24th April and return on 2nd May. We had got a call from NDVO on 15th March to ask if we were comfortable with 27th April. At this time, we did not expect the borders to be closed and said "YES" for CoPR.

Now, with this situation of Coronavirus and border closure, I am not really comfortable that even a travel on 24th April would be safe considering that Canada might want to restrict movements then.

Also my wife (primary applicant) has her passport expiring in Dec. So we have to travel within 6 months from the expiry of her passport (which might be June). I am really tensed now, with the current situation and dont want the CoPR to get cancelled. I have no strength to go through the PR process again from scratch.

I hope IRCC provides with options to extend the CoPR with additional medicals.

Should I raise a Web-form to NDVO as my CoPR was stamped there. Seeking your advice.

Thanks in advance for your help!!
