i dont know how to post here..if there is someone that i can send to messenger..its not the email itself that she sent just a screenshot so i cant copy and paste..

She's from the philippines, i just know her in fb as we are in the same situation, since then we've been exchanging messages..their copr expired june 2020..she just send a copy of her copr and visa and front page of the passport, but that was before they release the new guidelines. She raised a webform july 15 (if im not mistaken) to make a follow up of her previous webform and was told to make a follow up if she dont receive any update by aug.6.
Can you share maybe the FB link/ group that the person shared it on?

If its not yours, please dont share screen shot on publi platform, you can just type the key paragraph probably.

Hi all,

On 25th July morning, I landed Toronto from Delhi via Air India VBM flight. The flight was on time and landed on time. All the food and water kept in front of the seat. Landed safely and after couple of hours of formalities at Pearson airport ( bit crowded on that day, surprisingly) , went to my quarantine place ( Private room with private washroom, common kitchen and laundry) through Uber taxi. I told the airbnb host clearly that I am coming for quarantine before booking and she agreed. Actually I tried with 4 or 5 places and finally only one accepted me for quarantine purpose. My advice is that, if you book airbnb, please chat with host, get confirmation and then only book to avoid any conflicts later. There are quite a number hosts offer quarantine stay but you need to confirm the purpose before booking.

At Pearson airport, they asked me the quarantine plan including how I would avail food and other essentials. I told about airbnb in detail and went to immigration counter. They asked only 4 questions - Do you have any criminal records , any other dependents, PR card address, How much money that I carry. Nothing else. He asked me to sign the COPR copies. That is all. I carried 7000 CAD plus bank statement but he did not ask for any proof or follow up question on POF. At immigration desk, I spent only about less than 10 mins.

After that, I collected my check in bags, went to customs desk and gave them the list of goods to follow. They did not ask me any question and gave an acknowledgment and receipt that I should produce while bringing those items.

After serving 14 days quarantine, I am planning to complete other formalities that are essential to work in Canada.

My gratitude to all of those who are in this forum for sharing their experiences and suggestions, which are really helping each other. I wish and pray that all of you have your turns soon. Thank you.

Hi,

IRRC just approved our permanent residence. they issued our COPR and PRV last 17 March 2020 We want to land in Canada by Sept. Will they allowed us to enter Canada and will not deny in port of entry? This question kept hunting me because I am really confused and afraid. There is a lot of travel restriction I red in IRRC website and it starting to confused me.I hope you can help me.

Regards,

Jodette

Hi,

We landed in Toronto from Bahrain on Aug 1st. They were only interested to know our quarantine plan. They did not ask us our plan after quarantine. Again this depends on case to case. My suggestion would be to keep answers ready for all possible scenarios.

Hope this helps :)

Yes these flights allow COPR holders. Yes you need to show proof of funds documents while landing. You can show your latest bank statement as proof of funds. As a cherry on top you can even have your branch manger issue you a official letter stating your current balance and its current CAD equivalent.

I would advise against traveling to Montreal immediately after landing. Reasons as follows:
1. In current scenario you will have to give quarantine address to IO. If it is in Montreal it may cause issues.
2. Secondly as you said traveling via Canadian transport without first finishing quarantine would be in direct violation of Quarantine Act. What if you infect other anytime during this travel ?? You should finish your quarantine in the city you are landing and then proceed onward.
Do I have to carry or prove all the funds stated while filing after ITA?

Yes you can travel and complete your landing without restrictions. Please browse the last few pages for comments from members.

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/coronavirus-covid19/immigration-applicants.html#approved-expire

Mandatory:
  • 14 days quarantine is mandatory.
  • You must arrive with clear plans of quarantining. Accomodation, how would you cater to your meals and any prescription medications etc. Basically, for the 14 days you must not venture out. Emergencies are exceptions of course.
  • Please read the IRCC website for details of our responsibility.
  • Suggest to carry printed IRCC pages to the airport along with a clear plan for quarantining and also demonstrate that you are arriving to Canada NOT on a temporary basis but permanently. Again, emergency exception applies. Governments are taking measures to avoid temporary travel due to COVID.

Best of luck and Canada is waiting to welcome you, safely!

Her copr and visa extended til october 30, 2020 and must travel to canada before oct 03,2020 otherwise she has to do the whole process again
Thank you very much for sharing this information. When you say she has to do the whole process again, do you mean the process for extension? A bit more clarification on this will be very helpful.

Could you update on what documentation you carried for the quarantine plan?

In addition, were you carrying any documentation to prove your plans about permanent vs. temporary settlement in case they asked?

Eventually once I finally get approved, I will be landing in Montreal, QC (only available flight) whereas my immigrating province is Ontario. I've read on this forum that one shouldn't not give a Quebec address for quarantine because it could cause problems with IO. What is the real answer? Anybody here has landed in QC and quarantine there when their final destination in Ontario or other federal province or vice versa?

You can land and proceed to Ontario via a local flight.

As a PR you can't land and stay in Quebec as a province on initial arrival.

Kindly book a connecting flight to Ontario.

Welcome to Canada.

Thanks a lot for confirming.

Regarding proceeding to Ontario, can a family member drive us there? The connecting flights are SO expensive for a 40 min flight?
