I also reached out to my local MOP here and got this response:Others have been denied boarding. Most airlines will likely not want to take the risk that you will be denied entry. Unless it is in writing I wouldn’t believe anything the IRCC agent says. They are often wrong.
Currently, our government is denying entry to people who are not Canadian citizens or permanent residents. This measure have some designated exceptions including immediate family members of Canadians citizens and permanent residents.
To note, immediate family members include:
(a) the spouse or common-law partner of the person;
(b) a dependent child of the person or of the person's spouse or common-law partner; and
(c) a dependent child of a dependent child referred to in paragraph (b).
Would this email from them suffice as proof at boarding and landing?
