The Government of Canada has suspended direct flights from India to Canada. Flights from Canada to India will continue. The High Commission will not be organizing repatriation flights during this period. Please remain in contact with your travel agent and airline for the latest updates.
Passengers who travel to Canada from India via an indirect route will need to obtain a pre-departure negative COVID-19 molecular test result from a third country before continuing their journey to Canada

Where’s my passport: Most passports from VAC/paper applications submitted to our offices in Delhi, Chandigarh and Bangalore have been returned to clients. If your passport has not been returned, please be patient as we process your file. If you have submitted your passport through our VFS Global, we recommend that you contact the VAC directly and provide your tracking number.
Passport submission: If you have already paid the 2-way courier service but have not yet submitted your passport, please hold on to it until services resume. If you have submitted your passport, it will be returned to you once the passport services resume. Given the high demand and inventory of requests we need to ensure a sound resumption plan is in place to support processing. We will resume passport submissions when we have the capacity to do so safely. Please continue to follow us on social media for further updated.
Passport Request Letters (PPRLs): Expired Passport Request Letters, will continue to be accepted until IRCC sends out a second notification to clients. In the second notification timeframes for compliance will be specified.
On June 17th the webform for students went live on the VAC website. Biometric appointments for students will take place beginning June 21, 2021. The webform is only open to student applicants, who have been issued a biometric instruction letter (BIL) and applied for a study permit. Please expect that it will take 2-4 days to receive confirmation of a biometric appointment given current demand.
