Convert Work Permit to permanent residence

Hello all,

A. I have Workpermit for Canada, soon arriving there (BC), but my job not listed in Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC). Will I qualify for PR or not. Please let me know, When I can apply for permanent residence..
I am IT manager(4+ EXP as IT manager ).


B. My wife has Work permit for USA, Will she can apply for PR. Her job also not listed in Canadian National Occupational Classification (NOC). My wife is HOD, Department of Mathematics (Engineering College).

Please let me know which is fast method (A or B) to apply
for Canada permanent residence..

Every job has an NOC, some are more explicit than others.

Yours is likely 0123.

You have three options -
1) work for two years on a valid work permit in Canada, and you can apply through the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).

2) I your employer is willing to offer you PERMANENT employment if you obtain PR, then you may qualify under the Skilled Workers, arranged employment stream.

3) You may or may not qualify under the Provincial Nominee program of whichever province in which you will be living -

Your wife's NOC depends on what you mean by "Engineering College." In the USA, "college" is the same as University (academic). In Canada, "college" means a vocational program. She is likely 4121, but could also be 4131 if it is more a vocational program than an academic program. Also depends on qualifications as well as job experience over the past 10 years, she would probably need a PhD to be evaluated as a "university" professor in Canada.

Regardless, unless she has a job offer in Canada, she would not qualify on her own for PR. If you applied under the skilled worker program, her education/occupation may give you more "points." Canadian Experience Class (CEC) does not have a point system, so if you were the primary applicant, her occupation would have no relevance.

There is no "fast method." The fastest of the above options above would be skilled worker / arranged employment, because there is no waiting period for obtaining Canadian experience.
