I will buy health insurance and then if i go to walk in clinic, will the doctor prescribed the medicine or asked questions ?
Walking clinic doctors ask questions but they don’t change your pills they know the importance of the pills in this sickness so they will prescribe the receipt. But he or she will suggest you to the specialist. I got extra pills from my country for 3 months because I didn’t have insurance

Travel medical insurance will not cover your medication because it is a preexisting and ongoing medical problem. As a student you are either covered under the provincial plan or you have to buy an insurance plan through your school as an international student. Depending on the province and the international student plan a certain percentage of your medication may be covered.
You said you can travel with a supply over 3 months if you have prescriptions explaining what the pills are.
I know senior people who get blood pressure pills ( amlodipine) for for more than 1 year. And I know that for sure my parents in law do that all time they ask only for prescription in Pearson airport. I know I took my pills of epilepsy (depakene) for 3 months so I could have enough pills till I was going to get health card. I came in Canada as skilled worker. So I don’t know what experience you do have but I am saying my experience. Most important information I want to give is not to disclose the illnes and he or she needs to heave pills enough to support their self during their stay in Canada. Stay well
It is very clear that you are only allowed to take a 3 month supply of prescription drugs to Canada. This is also to protect the pharmaceutical industry in Canada against the importation of significantly less expensive medication. If someone wants to visit Canada for over 3 months they are expected to see a Canadian physician and get a Canadian prescription. Visiting for longer periods is a privilege that often comes with extra hassles. Exceptions are made when entering Canada but everything but the 3 month supply could have as easily been confiscated and often does. Not disclosing is misrepresenting is never a good idea with IRCC or customs. The consequences are often more severe if you are caught misrepresenting your situation.
