Hi Everyone,

I have a question about my work experience. So I've been working for 6 months now. The job can be classified as NOC B. However, I got my job through agency (one year contract). It means that I'm working for company A, but im not an employee of company A(not on its payroll) . The agency pays me, and on my T4, it also says the agency.

I don't think this is self-employment, because i still get T4 from the employer(agency). I consulted with an immigration professional, she was 100% sure that my situation was not eligible to apply EE under CEC.

Where on CIC website indicates that? and is what she said true?

Thank you all for your help!!!

Why can't this agency be considered your employer

I also work at different client sites and on payroll of a 3rd party but my employer gave me work exp letters, my tax docs, pay stubs which clearly says I am full time employee etc........

Thank you for your reply. I didnt know better, cause i'm just planning to apply for EE. I trusted this immigration professional because my friend referred her to me. But i didnt find any info related to this on CIC website. Thats when i started to question what she said.

Yup, if you work for a company(agency) and get your pay stubs etc...doesn't matter if you work for which client

Your company will verify everything for you if required...Self emplyment is when you own a company and either you are a owner or director your self

You mentioned that you already submitted your doc to CIC and everything. About the reference and employment letters, did you get them from both the company you work for and the 3rd party that pays you? I feel like it might be hard for me to get the letter from the company I work for now, because I'm not an official employee. How did it work for you? If it's okay to share. Much appreciated.

No, my client won't give me anything as I am not on their payroll.

My agency for which I am working on gave me everything required.

I got experience letter from my agency on what i do for my clients + paystubs etc.

In my case, I am a full time employee for this agency so they have to issue things i might need

Good luck

I see you just got this week. CONGRATS!!!

one more question. Did you write any explanation letter to indicate your work status (that youre hired by an agency)? I feel like it's necessary to provide it.

Thank you
Yes, i wrote as why my employer ( agency) is NY based and I live in Georgia.....All that client and agency thing in that letter
