Hello! I am a PGWP holder and I recently got a job as an Application scientist in Canada. I was hired as an independent contractor to perform the following work [....I won't give the company details for proprietary reasons].
The contract states " Your hourly rate will be $15 CAD. You have agreed that you are able to work at [....], Monday to Friday for a maximum of 8 hours per day. This format maybe changed periodically due to work demands. Any changes to this hourly schedule, in particular the maximum of 40 hr/week, must receive previous approval by your manager.
As an independent contractor [.....company...] will not deduct any income taxes or pay benefits. it is your responsibility to report your annual income to the Canada Revenue Agency"
Now my question is, if I work full time (40 hrs/week) for an year under this contract details, am I eligible to get the one year Canadian experience? The fact that I'm under this particular contract and not a full time permanent job is bothering me and I want to get clarified on this issue. Any thoughts?
