Hi Members,

Need your expertise on my queries.

I am planning to take Project Management course from University of Calgary or Macewan University in Alberta. Its a 1 year course(3 terms). The course falls under Continuing studies/Non Credit course category.

1. Is it eligible for PGWP being a non credit course. I checked the website it says that PGWP is eligible for every course with minimum 8 months. But I need to double confirm since mine is Continuing studies category which is a non credit course.

2. Also i need to know for the non credit course, am I eligible to work part-time off campus? Because from university of calgary website under section 'Can I work off capmus'(https://www.ucalgary.ca/student-services/iss/immigration/working-canada-student) its mentioned as not eligible for continuing education students.

Kindly need all your help on clarifying the above questions from those who already have knowledge on these or those who have completed studying on similar kind of non credit courses.

Thanks.

I've also applied for a Post-graduation Certificate at York University School of Continuing Studies and have doubts regarding its acceptability in express entry points.

Did you get your PGWP after completing your Post-graduation Certificate at York University School of Continuing Studies? And was it a Non -credit course ?

Hello, My visa application has been refused. However, I know some people who completed Post-graduation Certificate at York and received the PGWP. May I ask what qualification you currently hold? I'm BSc in applied accounting but visa officer still think PGC in accounting is not a progression.

Are you studying and working in Alberta? What AINP stream? If not, no. If outside Canada, non credit courses will not be assessed by ECA groups. It is no credit so not getting a diploma or degree.

I have done my BCom in India. I am planning to do non-credit certificate courses ( 2 courses in 2 years ) in SAIT. I heard non-credit courses are useless for PR processing in Alberta. Is it true ?

How did you get a PAL and study permit for courses. It is useless for PR as it doesn’t count for anything.
