My friend is meant to attend a conference at McGill from UK but is experiencing delays. They wanted to know if the conference organisers contacting an MP will help their case? And how long does it take to hear back after contacting MP?
MPs cannot influence processing or decisions - or speed up processing. Generally speaking, MPs only get invovled to inquire about the status of an application for applications involving constituents living in their riding. I think it's unlikely the MP would do anything in this case. Even if they do, the most they can do is inquire about status.
