Contact IRCC from India to ask for extension on fingerprints

Hi All,

Me and my wife submitted our Citizenship application in the month of January 2021. We received Acknowledgment email sometime in the month of March followed by which only i received email in July 2021 asking to submit my fingerprints.

Question: Currently i'm stuck in India due to family emergency reasons and won't be able to make it into Canada before the due date in October as I'm instructed to complete the fingerprints within 90 days. I'm trying to contact IRCC on 1-888-242-2100 to ask for an extension but i can't dial this number from India. Anyone know how i can reach them from India and if they will grant me extension.

One person posted getting it done from abroad. You can first try getting it from abroad rather than trying to get it postponed.

Many of the people's record dont get sent to cic within 30 days for sure and earlier they used to give 90 days for it. They use the same age old processes. So you can certainly come back to Canada and submit the prints and i wouldnt risk telling them aborad trip and making them mark the absence period in your file(which might put your file on hold).

1. Try abroad to get the prints.
2. if not come back and give the prints.
3. last option if both dont work then postpone.
