My application is under background check now. Today I have noticed the home/contact address has disappeared from the e-cas. Can anyone inform why has that happened? Is this normal? Does this indicate anything?

Thanks.

:D Hi,
According to my experience and from discussions in the forum, I suggest don't bother about ECAS entries and updates. It is very usual to happen such errors. Your application file and entries in their system at the Immigration section will be up to date and the processing will be in a systematic method. For your satisfaction, you can send a case specific enquiry and confirm your address.

Same happened with me.

Helo,

No need to worry about it. It happened to me also. My status is in "in process" since 15 February 2011 and the mailing address disappeared and comes again and now again it disappeared since 1 week. It's a kind of error I guess but no need to worry I think.

Cheers.

Hi itsbeenlongtime,

Who said that it's a good sign when they remove and put the mailing address in e-CAS? Could you please briefly explain me? I'm getting worry abt it.

i think as you were absent from this forum many strange things happened. this ecas kept confusing people and changed its shapes many times. many people have reported weird activities with this monster so don't bother much

B Cool.
It does not indicate anything.
Everythings happen for a reason. They might be updating something or having some database issue.
B Positive.

It's neither a good nor a bad sign. Most probably, it is because of the implementation of Global Case Management System which is going to replace the CAIPS very soon. I think the files are being transferred to GCMS which has some 'premeture deceases' and resulting in some errors like disappearing of Postal Addresses or change in e-CAS to 'In Process' while those files are actually not being processed. Hopefully these bugs will be fixed soon and we have more detailed information available through GCMS.

Hope this info helps.
Cheers

Mine too has disappeared , this is the 2nd time it is disappearing. Hope it means something good.

It does not indicate a bad or a good activity.

Hi Friends,

Today the e-cas contact address disappeared for me too. The status still shows "in process".

Regards,
amay

mine is disappeared since many days. in past it ahd been disappeared but for very short period. there are three possible explanations

1 they are making some changes i,e caips to gcms transfer and it happens when your data is being trasnfered from one system to another

2 there is a chance that your data gets vanished on your bfd (bring forward date)

3 it is nothing and just a temp glitch

however whatever it is there must be soem explanation to it as nothing happens without a reason. either it could be technical and not related to our cases advancement or it could be related to our cases..keeping fingers crossed
