try to avoid consultants as they try to get into a college and course that gives them commission they do not have ur best interests at heart.... to apply for visa there is a clear and simple checklist that u have to follow and google has all the information about colleges / universities.......i believe if ur educated and understand english u shouldnt use agents consultants .....if u cant do the simple thing as getting admission process right and visa process right then how do u expect to live in a new country and succeed. there r a lot of people here who help for free. how a consultant and his employees who have never most likely gone to canada help u ?

Makes perfect sense Mead!!! Thank you so much for such a valuable advice. This makes me take an instant decision of "not going to any consultant" and research more and help by myself. Looking forward for help from you guys here. You guys are doing an amazing job.

It's not a bad idea to consult a consultant as their expertise can be useful, what's really not a good idea is to rely and completely go by what consultant offers you. For example, if your profile is good and your area of interest is more research based, then University is the right choice for you for masters or Phd programs which no consultant will help you with as Universities do not entertain consultants, hence no commission for consultancies.

Most importantly, why to even contact consultant, all the info is available online, visa application process is pretty simple. One must do research on his own as to which program is a best fit for him/her, does he/she qualifies, when to apply and how to apply. All this info is there for you, thanks to internet.

There are many consultancies which offer services for free (as they get commission from colleges). So if a candidate decides to join a college, I would say contacting a consultancy is not a bad idea as they can be of help. However, should you decide to join a Uni or if the consultancy is charging a fee, don't bother to contact them.

You must know which program, province, college/uni you wish to join, for application process, you can contact consultancy (only if you are not confident about your application package).
