I had the chance to discuss Immigration Policy with Incoming Conservative MP s Alice Wong,Andrew Saxton and John Weston as Well as Asia Pacific Gateway Minister James Moore while We were waiting to meet PM Harper during his last campaign stop in BC.Basically with the reelected Canadian Goverment, the skilled workers will be accelerated with their own special line along with Family reunification line. The other classes will now be in their own separate much slower line. They have repeated that Canada needs skilled workers and that they will make efforts to improve foriegn credential recognition. It is not right for professionals to come to Canada only to flip burgers.Harper has continously said Canada is a nation of Immigrants and needs Immigrants that do not have to fear another Conservative goverment. The official Conservative Policy position states that New Canadians have to be brought into the system if Conservatism is to be established as a insitution in Canada.

What other classes will be in a much slower line? Investor, PNP, CEC?

Did they say if everybody still can apply for skilled worker and the 38 will just be faster or if it's only the 38 that can apply?

So, only 38 limited occupations skilled worker can apply now in FSW category. Other skilled workers will apply in the alternative programs. May i know when will the list come??

it's just as I was conjecturing in a different post. I very much doubt that the skilled worker program will be limited to the 38 occupations. what I think will happen is the 38 occupations will be fast-tracked, more or les in the same line as people with AOE, and people who are not in the 38 occupations can still apply as Skilled Worker, but will follow the normal procedure. again, that would be my bet, based on the experience of dealing with bureaucracies of three or four different countries.

That is a good point Eduardo, I'll buy your bet I don't think they will only concentrate on 38 professions, it will take longer for the ones not on the list but eventually you'll get there.

My question is if that job was not in 38 list. but the 38 list includes job i worked before. shall i withdraw my application and resubmit it with the diffrenet job profiles

My wife is a registered nurse and we are waiting for the fast-track immigration annuoncement. I think there won't be much difference in time period of getting work permit and immigration and thus majority will apply for FSW.
