I have read a lot of posts from people saying they have submitted more than 20 photos when proving relationship.

I do not want to exceed the limitation set by CIC and I want to be in the Immigration officer's good books when he is processing my application however I do feel really tempted to include more than 20 pictures specially since my relationship with my wife is fairly new.

Has anyone's application been rejected or returned for including more than 20 photos?

No, your application won't be rejected or returned, because you submitted more than 20 photos. It will be more likely annoying to whoever is going to review your case.

Just follow instructions.

Listen to Canuck. He knows all.

We submitted 20 photos, and also submitted some social media screenshots on normal paper. I think it was 12 screenshots on two pages of paper.
..we also submitted 184 pages of text and facebook messenger history.. but we get through!

Submit what they ask for. The limit is there for a reason and while you won't get rejected for sending extra pics..why do it?

They state maximum 20..because they want a maximum of 20..they know you probably have 400 more.. And if they want to see them they're gonna ask for them during the application.

Do you think they will be more likely to want to approve you if you show them you are a rule breaker? ;)

Maybe they will be upset that they can’t ask for additional photos or documents as they love to surprise people with thier strange requests.
About being annoyed they are anyway best way to keep them happy not send any application or send fees receipts as donations without any application they will be so happy. Lol

Hi ,

I am exactly in the same situation. So I am tempted to show more than 20 photos. Therefore, I was thinking of grouping a couple of events like family dinner or outdoor visits into a collage. This way I am showing more photos but still not crossing 20 photos. Is that Ok to do ?

Easiest just to stick to 20 photos. Choose the best of what you have from different time periods if possible. For example: I did two from 2015, two from 2016, three from 2017, three from 2018, three from 2019, and seven from the wedding.

They’re not really looking for quantity. They’re looking for a series of photos that show the logical progression of a relationship moving forward over a period of time that appears genuine. That’s best case scenario if you can prove it. Always best to make it easy for the officer to put the pieces of your puzzle together by making it make sense for them.
