Connection through Vienna, do you need COVID test?

I have a connecting flight through Vienna to Toronto, I was reading this:

• Entry into Austria from all countries for which there are entry restrictions is only permitted with a negative PCR test (corona test). The test may be taken at most 72 hours before entry.

I am coming from a country with entry restrictions to Austria, but Austria is not my final destination.

Does this mandatory COVID test apply to connecting travellers? Has anyone been through Vienna recently to share their experience?

They dont have a toll free number. Email communication is very slow. Was wondering if someone else has been there before I spend money to call them.

You mean there are no local office? How about at the airport?

I called the airport and confirmed that you do not need a COVID test if you are only in transit.
