Everyone goes through the immigration medical exam before they start to actually process your application..

Yes, it's a good sign but you are also still in the earlier stages of the process. This means it has been confirmed that your partner is eligible to sponsor you. However there are still quite a number of steps to complete such as assessing your relationship to determine if it meets the requirements for conjugal, reviewing the results of your medical, and background and security checks.

The medical step is quite early in the process. IRCC hadn't even evaluated your relationship yet. I would assume that you have several more months to wait. It's hard for any of us to guess how long.

Sponsor approval is the first critical milestone, since without an approved sponsor the sponsorship application would fail.

Hello All. I will steal this opportunity to ask a question here.

I had a met a girl back home and started talking over the phone. Then after 3 years I went back to marry her. There was a ceremony and papers were signed in the presence of 100 people/family/friends/relatives etc. After 3 days of marriage her family forced separated. They confiscated the marriage docs and threatened me about defamation because same gender marriages are not acceptable in the country of origin of me and my spouse. I already had the gender marker changed so the marriage is not really a homosexual marriage but the spouse's family got my birth certificate and threatened me based on that.

I have hired a consultant to do the PR application. I had to force him to apply for Visitor Visa which got rejected because of strong ties in Canada and not so much in the country of origin. Now the consultant is applying for Spousal application. He is not answering my queries and also neglecting the fact that we do not have marriage certificate or anything at all. We do have the proof of marriage ceremony in the form of a video, photos, invitation cards, event planner booking and invoice, engagement photos (from 2022), My visits to her etc.

I have also prepared a letter of proof of our relationship where I have put down the details about how and where we met, how did we talk with each other, whatsapp/skype/snap ... chats, video calls, money transactions, gift exchanges etc.. Plus the photos during marriage ceremony and reception after that.

Is this conjugal or is this spousal application for PR? I am so confused.
Will the video and other material aforementioned help?
Please help!
