We have known each other for 8 years, the first 4 years as classmates and the remaining years is in a relationship. We did not get married by that time because by that time I am 17 and he is 18 and we are still dependent in our families. We went to college but he and his family migrated in Canada. Unfortunately we are still a dependent in our parents in that time. Now that he has a job in Canada and I also have a job here in Philippines we can now support ourselves. Both of our parents are willing for us to get married so we can work together in Canada and support ourselves and help them as possible. We have a lot of pictures, out of town pictures, letters, and now I read that you need to have a share of bills? We are now doing it. Are we eligible? Thanks. Hoping for positive feedbacks.

If you intend on getting married, then no, you are not able to apply as Conjugal. You will have to get married THEN apply.

No one can say for sure what your chances are... but having all the information you need and all the documents needed. present a strong case showing the validity of your relationship. It would definitely be best to get married before filing the application once married it's alot easier to prove you have a valid relationship... GL!

Hi again. Sorry for reupping this topic again. Could someone give us an advice on how can I get my girlfriend in Philippines? We are planning to get married next year. And do we need to be together for 1 year? because I know that the maximum stay in Philippines is 6months. Thanks in advance.

also where will we fall to? is it Spousal, common law or conjugal after being married. we have no child.

If you get married, it doesn't matter if you lived together or not. You will be applying under Spousal. She can apply for a visitor's visa. I'm not an expert on that since we're applying through the US but I believe someone else can inform you of the visitor's visa :)

Once you are married, you can sponsor her as your spouse. You do not need to live together for a year for a spousal sponsorship. You would not qualify as conjugal anyway.

The one-year relationship is if you're applying as common-law, where you have to be living together for 12 months before you can apply as a common-law couple. If you're married then you don't have this requirement.
