hello. i'm new to all this..and i know that conjugal has been discussed but i'm confused with all that. like for example me and my partner. he sponsor me in conjugal category and we send application in january 4. 2012 and on CIC i read is like 53 days for processing that application in canada and if they accepted our application they gonna sent my in vienna and that is gonna take about 8 months.so is that correct. and what happens then...when they gonna ask me for medical and criminal check,---because they didn't ask for medical now....-------and when will they ask for passport..or interview if needed.....i read here on conjugal but it's all diffrent from my case..so if you can help it would be nice..thanks..and good luck for everyone.

You are supposed to send the medical and police check in with the application - except for a few countries.

After the embassy in Vienna gets your application, a visa officer will review it (eventually). If they have questions, they will ask you to come for an interview. Usually interviews are called when the visa officer thinks the relationship might be fake, though there are other reasons. If after the interview the visa officer believes your relationship is genuine, and there are no other problems with your application, they will request your passport.

well thanks canadianwoman........that helps...but for medical they didn't ask for it and lawyer who helpd didn't tell us/him to do that...he said like they gonna ask later..and i'm from bosnia so i don't know why they didn't ask and why he /lawyer/ didn't mentioned that.........but if everything goes ok i'm gonna send medical when they requested it.........anyway thanks

It sounds like your lawyer doesn't know what he/she is doing.

As canadianwoman mentioned, you should have completed your medical before submitting the application. It doesn't matter where you are from. The process is the same.

Scylla was right, you were supposed to send everything together, but you still have a chance not to prolong it further more. Do your medical in IOM in Sarajevo, You should call them and make appointment, Office is in"Importane center building " and if you are lucky enough your medical might be on time in Vienna. This way if you wait for them to ask for it it might take additional 3-4 months on top of everything.

And for police clearance you will have to wait for them to send your file no. You will have to use it as reference .

i don't know anymore...they ask immigration on begining and immigration told them like i don't need to do medical and police right then....they gonna ask for it .....they mean vienna ..embassy in vienna gonna ask for medical and criminal check...i don't know for criminal how they do it.....is it like they check it electronicly with police hedquoters in my town or i got do take it and send to vienna..........

For the medical, you cannot just go to any doctor. You must go to one of the designated medical practitioners listed on this site:

it will take about 1 or 2 hours, very simple, chest x-ray, blood and usual checkup but you have to do it thru IOM , Sarajevo

thanks lucky rain...i'm gonna to that..medical and criminal check......but just one more thing about criminal check. is there ''expiry date'' on criminal check documen...because i don't know when in vienna gonna need that....maybe it's gonna pass few months before they check it and look at it.......

I PM-ed You, I believe there is expiry date on that , but you cannot change that I did mine last May and mine papers arrived in Vienna this Jan. that is procedure , you just have to accept that

yes i see PM but i can't reply with private message....and for expiry date is that mean if criminal expire..i must do it again or what.....i mean that isn't problem anyway.like your criminal..if you expire do you must do it again..
