I have read the post you posted and they have the right to apply common-law, she is from a Country where she can't get a divorce and it is very very hard to get an annulment, see thats the barrier we keep mentioning to you....

They have the right to apply conjugal. They can apply conjugal because, she can't get a divorce to be able to live with her partner to apply common-law or even marry her partner if she wanted to.... that is the barrier... and as for the second posting you posted still they are Manila Philippines which is a country that doesn't recognize same sex couple THE BARRIER.

Thank you for catching that! For some reason the proper screen-name would not come to me and I had cleaning on the brain and wasn't thinking clearly. :)
Happy to help :) The tip-of-the-tongue thing happens to all of us.

OK thanks everyone! I just want to reiterate that this is a question for a friend, not me. I was wondering what those people who WERE successful did to get their PR. As CP is rarely successful, of course I'd recommend getting married or one of them try to get a job in the other country so they can at least apply as common-law after a year or so together. I just want to give them all possible info. Thanks! :)
