Hello I was wondering if I would qualify for conjugal partner sponsorship..if anyone could help or advise me please !!

My boyfriend was here on a refugee and the claim was denied. He was given a 1 year ban (The 1 year is almost over)
During this time I was pregnant (just gave birth in October) and unable to travel to Africa. Could not receive the vaccinations while pregnant and also couldn't bring our newborn there either due to vaccinations, and also very expensive so as a single mother I can't afford it. We only lived together while he was in canada (less then 1 year) but we have proof of our relationship obviously.

Any thoughts?

Is there any immigration barrier preventing you from traveling to his home country to get married? I think it's probably safe to assume there's no immigration barrier preventing you from traveling to his home country as a tourist. So if you traveled there as tourist, anything preventing you from getting married?

CIC doesn't typically accept financial barriers as reasons why a couple is conjugal. Typically they're looking for real immigration barriers (e.g. it is impossible for the two of you to get married in his country because one of you is previously divorced and his country doesn't recognize divorce - or something like that).

Yeah and CIC really emphasizes being together for the minimum of 12 months before you apply, you can try and see though or just wait to be safe. And yeah financial barriers don't count

Thank you guys very much! No immigration barriers just unable to get my daughters immunization right now. I had no idea about any of this. Any chances of him being able to visit? I've heard many things from different people and not sure if he would need a lawyer to try and come back considering he did get a removal orde. He did everything right and his lawyer said he could return after 1 year to visit but not to live...but everything I've read on this site says it's impossible to get a visitor visa after being removed from Canada even after the 1 year ban has passed. Thanks again guys!

Sadly I think it's highly unlikely a TRV will be approved for him (even once the ban is over) given the failed refugee claim. I think you'll need to visit him in his home country (once you're able to) and get married there.
