Confusion with WES Report/Two or more degrees

Dear Forum Experts,

My husband and I are from India and are in the process of submitting our Express Entry profile/application. We are really confused about selecting the right options for my husband's educational credentials in the Express Entry profile, as we are unable to find the equivalents mentioned in his WES report anywhere on the CIC website/guide/conversion table. We have written to WES as well as CIC for assistance, but to no avail.

My husband's WES ECA report states the following for his Indian educational credentials:
WES Report Educational Summary: Bachelor's Degree (4 years)
1. B.Com from Mumbai University (3 years ) - WES equivalent - Bachelor's Degree (3 years)
2. M.Com from Mumbai University (2 years) - WES equivalent - Bachelor's Degree (4 years) - in conjunction with B.Com completed earlier
3. Post-Graduate Diploma in Management (2 years) - WES equivalent - Completion of a second undergraduate major (No duration mentioned)

We have the following questions:

1. What does the 'Educational Summary' in the WES ECA report mean?

2. Should we be choosing 'Two or more degrees, diplomas or certificates' or 'Bachelor's Degree'?

3. If it's 'Two or more degrees' we should be choosing this option for which out of the 3 educational credentials in the Express Entry profile/application?

4. As the WES equivalent for M.Com mentions 'in conjunction with B.Com completed earlier', can B.Com and M.Com be treated as two separate degrees or should they be considered as one degree only?

5. Can 'Completion of second undergraduate major' can be treated as an independent degree/diploma/certificate? If not, which option for educational equivalent should be selected for it?

Some assistance here would be really very helpful.

Also, would really appreciate if someone with a similar case who has got a PR could share his/her experience. It will give us some certainty.

Thanking you in anticipation.

Best Regards,
Rashmi

Ok... keep it simple. What are the words on the WES certificate?

Also, try this. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

@ SanKanKun & kryton, the 'Summary' at the top of my husband's WES evaluation report states 'Bachelor's Degree'.

But, surprisingly, after the changes in the Express Entry Point system came into effect 19th November 2016 onwards, and the 'Two or More Degrees' option was done away with in the EE profile, my husband's profile has been automatically given points for 'Two or More Degrees' by the system, but we are unsure of which credential out of M.Com and PDGM is the system considering as the 2nd degree/credential. We have selected the following Canadian Equivalents for his Indian credentials in the EE profile:

1. B.Com - Bachelor's Degree (WES report - Bachelor's Degree (3 years))
2. M.Com - Bachelor's Degree (WES report - Bachelor's Degree (4 years) - in conjunction with B.Com)
3. PGDM - 2 years of study in post-graduate institute (WES report - Completion of 2nd undergraduate major)

Yes. In the new system, all you have to do is to enter each credential's equivalent as shown in ECA report and the system recognizes it as "two or more" if it satisfies the criteria mentioned under "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees" in http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp

I have updated my profile with the recent changes took place in 19th November 2016 for two or more degrees but haven't received any email from IRCC. Just wanted to know whether there will be an email from IRCC after the update?

Hello,

My WES ECA Summary states BACHELOR DEGREE FOUR YEARS.

credential 1: BA HONS MATHEMATICS (Canadian Equivalency is BACHELORS DEGREE FOUR years)
credential 2: PGDBM (2 years, Recognized Institute)- Canadian Equivalency is COMPLETION OF SECOND UNDERGRADUATE MAJOR

All along I believed this means that the TWO OR MORE DIPLOMA/DEGREE option is applicable to me. My CRS has 119 points for Education, and another 25 points for Skills Transferability, as I have CLB 10+in IELTS.

Now, when the Nov 19 changes came in, some fields went BLANK (specifically, the Two OR MORE that I had selected for my PGDBM). I changed it to Two Year Degee / Diploma option as that's seemed the closest To me. But I wasn't so sure it's the correct option. There is no option that matches a "Canadian Equivalency is COMPLETION OF SECOND UNDERGRADUATE MAJOR"in the CIC ECA CONVERSION TABLE.

I have posted my query to WES , yesterday....awaiting a reply....fingers crossed...

But I seriously don't get it, why would they give me such a ridiculous Equivalency for a 2 year full time PG Diploma in Business Management! At least a Diploma, for one year , instead of UG Major...should I have it re evaluated? The loss of 32 points on my CRS will get me out of OINP as my score will drop below 400. And there's is no other way, to increase my score , except perhaps learn French (just joking)!!

Please advise....

I'm confused by what you're asking. Your qualification was given the Canadian equivalent. The whole point of an ECA is so that CIC can put people on an even playing field. It seems whatever you studied or where you studied wasn't good enough to count as a post grad. Apart from asking for them to double check it there's not much you can do.

After going thru a lot of threads on this forum , over the last 48 hours, I am not sure WES does such a great job of evaluating credentials.... as for putting people on a level playing field, well...Several people have written to WES esp regarding their PGDMs , and they have come back a few days later with amendments to the original ECA Report. Folks on other threads have even suggested that some other organizations do a more thorough evaluation, although they take longer!

Well sure, ask them to reevaluate it.

Hi - I have a question and I am sure one of you guys would be able to help me!

Only my 4 years B.E has been evaluated by WES for Canadian equivalency.

My PGDM was not comparable to a completed Canadian education credential (very unfortunate)

Question:

1. What should I select while selecting the education credentials? TWO OR MORE DIPLOMA/DEGREE with one being more than 3 years of education?

2. How much points would I be losing because my PGDM was not considered for evaluation; Should I try submitting my evaluation again through CEC/ICAS?

Note: WES did not amend my PGDM stating that my univ is AICTE recognized but my course is not!!! quite perplexing...

If they have only evaluated your degree only select degree. There is no two degree option anymore, you just list your qualifications separately. It's calculated automatically if they are valid.

Where did you do your PGDM from? Am also waiting for WES to reply to my query, then I may just get the whole thing done again by CES /ICAS.

I received an email from WES (based on re-evaluation request) as follows:

"The AICTE is responsible for accreditation/recognition in India. It does not accredit institutions as a whole but rather, individual programs of study. According to our resources, the program you were enrolled in is not accredited"
