Quick Question Seniors please help : my friend is about to submit her E-APR , starting date she has used in EE is April 20 (PGWP start date) but her actual join date is Jan 18 she started working right after her graduation ,also on her refrence letter from employer join date is clearly mentioned Jan 18 , does she needs to change something ?could this be a problem?

Thank you

Re: Confusion

If she started working after applying for her PGWP then no issues.

no the only concern is the dates don't match , Exp is one year and by now she has 1.5 years of Exp in total but only claiming points for 1 .

Re: Confusion

she started working before she applied for her PGWP , but she has not claimed points for those 3.5 months , thats why she used her PGWP start date in her EE before ITA , so there is no problem .

Re: Confusion

her only concern is the dates don't match right ? she has used april date keeping in mind that she cannot claim points for those 3.5 months , so her concern now is if there will be any problem ? does she needs to address why start dates are different? in EE and on reference letter ?

That's not a concern, she can write a paragraph in a LOE if anything.

My concern is whether she was entitled to be working full-time after finishing her studies and before applying for her PGWP.

In my opinion , a person can start working right after their graduation they become eligible to work full time ; now, that being said if that work experience counts towards your EE ,is unknown;honestly if we are just claiming points starting our PGWP date and even if our reference letter has a back date of jan whatever , we are not claiming points for it ;so technically should not be in any kind of trouble !

i am pretty certain that your experience only starts when you get afull time PGWP, as i had this issue in the past while trying to apply with my last job, but i am not the expert here and it was with the old rules, before november(which i think should be the same for this case)

i think the number of points will be the same for 1 year and 1.5 years and also, if she had a SIN while she was studying, its fine as she was eligible to work in that case
